Hi, everyone!
I am planning on applying to UMASS for the 2021 cycle of their ABSN program. I will be graduating in December of this year (2020) with my bachelor's in health sciences.
Anyone else going to be applying? ?

I finally heard back, I just got waitlisted.
3.5 cumulative and 3.7 pre-reqs but my undergrad has nothing to do with nursing whatsoever, so that might be a factor. Anyways, Anyone else on the same boat?I did ask how long is the waitlist and my rank, but I doubt they'll specify.
I haven’t heard back yet and I’m starting to get frustrated. But what you’re saying is that they are not paying attention to our undergraduate GPA? And how did you hear back from them?? Did they call or email? And hopefully you get off the waitlist!

I read your comment incorrectly the first time I quoted your comment LOL, please ignore my first comment. But how did you hear back from the school? did they call or email you?
I got an email with an attachment, saying this:
Looking at others stats, yeah I don't think it's solely based on GPA which I think is a good thing, cause GPA only says so much about a person ? I'm from California, accounting background, so those may have lowered my chances? I have no idea, I really wish I do hahaha

Wow that’s shocking, your prerequisites GPA is very competitive though I really don’t see why you wouldn’t have a chance. I haven’t heard anything back and when I call or email I don’t get a reply. I’m slowly starting to get frustrated.
hey everyone! I got accepted this week with a 3.3 overall and 3.6 pre req. I have a lot of experience in the health field including 2 years as an EMT. Im currently studying neuroscience and have forensics & wellness minors. I wouldn't say that they don't take GPA into considerations but im sure they are considering those who touch all aspects of the application including the personal statement, experience, and letters of rec. I also wouldn't consider not hearing back yet a declination. im sure that as people sent in deposits they will get a better idea of how many more spots they have to fill. Keep your head up & best of luck to everyone!!
For context, I got accepted and graduated undergrad with poli sci 3.5 GPA and had a 3.9 pre req GPA. I have been a lifeguard for 7 years every Summer, a PCA for 5 years and I also am an anonymous egg donor that inspired me the most to speak about. I have a lot of volunteer experience, including ER bereavement volunteer and working as a court appointed advocate for kids in the judicial system. My sister in law got in after her second cycle applying with an undergrad in biology and retail experience!
Don’t give up you guys and just apply again if you don’t get in this round ❤️
