UMASS Amherst ABSN 2021

Published

Hi, everyone!

I am planning on applying to UMASS for the 2021 cycle of their ABSN program. I will be graduating in December of this year (2020) with my bachelor's in health sciences.

Anyone else going to be applying? ?

@SJC9425 yeah, I emailed and they said March 1st...maybe they go alphabetical order? IDK LOL

I don’t think it’s alphabetical because my last name starts with T. I did finish my app earlier than the deadline so it could be date of submission? LOL

Hey all,

I just created the facebook group "UMASS Amherst ABSN 2021 - 2022"

Hi, what month did you submit your application? And congratulations ??

Hey y’all! 2020 cohort here! Don’t stress about acceptance letters, there is no specific order, rhyme or reason. I heard back much later than my classmates (mid March). Make sure you keep checking you junk mail! I never got a snail mail letter just an email in my junk folder! I don’t recommend reaching out to Dee (Dorcas) or other school officials, they won’t tell you anything over the phone , trust me I tried. Be patient and goodluck!

Hey guys,

still waiting on my decision letter. Those that got in what are your pre req gpas and experience like? don't know if I have a shot or not

I didn't think I had a shot...3.4 undergrad GPA and 3.7 pre req GPA. But I had a ton of supplemental stuff and a 2 great recommendation letters from 2 PhD professors.

@BradA1515 I never thought I’d get in. 3.5 cum GPA and a 3.2 pre req. definitely not great but I think my letter of rec and essay really helped

I have a ton of CNA experience, I currently work at tufts medical center. I hope that helps a lot, but im not sure

Thanks @33b_r_i_a_n_n_a33 for the moral support! How's the program so far??

Hi guys,

I finally heard back, I just got waitlisted.

3.5 cumulative and 3.7 pre-reqs but my undergrad has nothing to do with nursing whatsoever, so that might be a factor. Anyways, Anyone else on the same boat?

I did ask how long is the waitlist and my rank, but I doubt they'll specify.
