Hi guys!
I'm currently completing my undergrad+prereqs to apply in the next year to UM's ABSN program for the Spring 2019 session (Apps due next august). I know it's a very premature thread but I thought there might be other applicants for the Spring 2019 session who are already freaking out about apps like me. If any students who were accepted for previous threads could share their experience, tips, or stats here that would be incredibly helpful.
We got this.
So am I understanding this correctly, the current GPA generated in our nursingCAS application is the one they are going by? That doesn't take into account any current classes we may be taking. I'm only taking human growth and dev now but I'll be done in July. Also, anyone who is applying to FIUs ABSN. What is your plan in case you get accepted into UM first, but only have a 2 week window to accept admission? FIU wont even start reviewing applications until August- September.
I don't know exactly because my GPA on my transcripts does not calculate my first attempt on the class I retook, it only counts the new grade. But the admissions rep emailed me today saying that they calculate your GPA including all attempts.
I am also stressed about the timing conflict for UM/FIU's ABSN programs. If anyone has any plan for this I would also love to know as well!!
anyone have an idea on when the next batch of decisions will be sent out?!
I am guessing sometime in the next 2 weeks. After people get a "complete" on cane link, the average change is about 10-12 days. But that's just what I have gathered from reading forums. Since a batch of people were switched to "complete" last friday, they should be notified I'd predict, by the end of June.

Since I submitted by UM application June 4th, it is possible that i would be accepted before FIU starts scheduling interviews. Which in comparison to last year, begin around September- early October. Personally, I'll officially accept whatever comes my way first. If I get a UM acceptance, I will accept admission and pay the admission fee to hold my spot. If I end up getting into FIU then I would just figure that out afterwards and make a decision. Unfortunately, finances dont weigh heavily for me because i wont be considered in-state until next March, so the tuition for FIU will be pretty close to the cost of UM.
