My situation is that i am a registered children's nurse in the UK with 10 years experience. I am currently undertaking a masters level nurse practitioner program in "Pediatric Ambulatory Care".
My wife and i are interested in moving to the orlando area in the not too distant future and i am trying to find out if i will be allowed to register in Florida.
The CGFNS says they are not sure as my nursing qualification is children's based and not general nursing, the Florida board of nursing were unsure as well... i am waiting for a response from the director of education...
does anyone have any experience of pediatric nursing in florida or whether a uk registered advanced nurse practitioner in pediatrics would be able to work in florida.
I hope someone can help - we are longing to be able to come to the usa to work but do not think we'd get visa's unless i am able to work in my current role.

Right now I'm battling with the CGFNS web-site - put out another thread on that one!!
My CV is at this moment being hawked around the Tampa (I hope) area so I'm just waiting for a lovely hospital to find out that they just can't do without me on their staff!!!
However, if I can't get to give CGFNS my credit card details I'm going NOWHERE!!!!!!!:angryfire
