UK Nurse Registration Full Application and Assessment stage before OSCE

Published

Hi People

I am a UK born citizen trained in Australia hence I am going via the overseas trained route. I passed my CBT test and am in the full application and assessment stage.

I am interested in sharing information with people who are also in this stage of the application.

I commenced my application in 2013 under the old process which was rejected due to lack of clinical hours. I received a letter from NMC advising me of the new process. Like many people on this forum, this entire process has been long, drawnout, frustrating and tedious for me!!!!!!!

Congratulation

Thanks Daisy, i have worked in the Uk for over 2 years now, presently i am working in a care center in east London, and i would really appreciate any support you can offer to help work through the registration process.

Congrats on the CBT! How long have you worked in the UK, I am a Lead Nurse for Practice Development and am currently supporting some HCAs to work through this process. They have worked in this role for between 2 and 8 years

Hi @daisy2206,

I will send you a private message. I have accepted your friendship request.

Thank you so much.

Hey Everyone,

Just a few words of wisdom :) I sat my OSCE on Monday, found out yesterday I passed and now have my PIN (today). I cannot say anything more about the test but I think what Afro wrote was helpful to me also. People are now getting through so be patient and you to will pass.

Wising you all so much luck!

Hi dana_Canada

Congratulations! !!! Very well done.

You will be an inspiration to us going through this journey yet. The rewards are great. Within a week of you taking the test, you are now an RGN in the UK. So happy for you.

Hope to hear from you still in the forum.

Good luck on your next stage of professional life. God bless.

Sorry Melcahussey, I can't work out how to reply to your PM.

Can you PM your email and I will send you a mail instead

I think meeting with other oversea trained nurses preparing for the OSCE to practice scenarios together and share ideas will be great.

What help would be of most use to you tarshi4real?

Tarshi4real Would you like to PM your email and I can explain what I am doing with our nurses?

Am sorry Daisy2206 Its either i do not know how to send PM or am not allowed to as i cannot seem to find how to do it. however my email add is [email protected]. i will take off the message as soon as you get this message

I think that's a brilliant idea. Wonder who will organise it though? Bear in mind the rewards are great, just like with Dana she took the osce Monday, she got the result Wednesday and next day she has her PIN😄 Amazing!!! I am truly inspired with that. And one more thing, OSCE is not cheap so to pass it first time will be great. So let's share our knowledge, time and skills.

You are right melcahussey, even if the exam is cheap sometimes if you are not used to something it offen appear difficult to you.Especially in exam situations, simple things may seems hard due to anxiety which is often related to exams. But if you have done some practices with friends it often helps.
