Hi everyone! I just applied for Fall 2015 entry to the Graduate Entry Program at UIC! Anyone else apply? I'm hoping to talk to some other people who are also excited/nervous about hearing back! :-)
I think my application was strong academically and in terms of the essays and recs, but I started my prereqs right after graduating last spring so I haven't had time to get any hands-on health care experience, which I hope won't be too much of a negative on my app. Does anyone know what kind of GPA and experience they look for? Also- does everyone have to interview?
Good luck guys! I hope we all make it in!!
I bet you're right about the single room for 4 people and 2 listed rooms for 8 meaning group interviews, MME20. I agree with all of you, that seems pretty short for a group! Maybe it will be easier? haha who knows. Let us know how it goes soni7! Good luck!! Don't be too worried, I'm sure we are all nervous- you won't be alone in that! :-)
Hi guys,
It might be that we are doing group interviews, but I just reread the information at the top of the SignUpGenius page. It says "We will be e-mailing you the room number for your interview within 48 hours of your scheduled interview". Maybe they are not group interviews after all. Also, they are offering Skype interviews to people that would most likely be individual. I have the first slot so I will post and let people know.
Has everyone viewed the PowerPoint? Is there sound associated with it? I could not get it to play on my phone. Good luck everyone!
So I called the admissions coordinator to ask about flying in versus Skyping (I live in D.C.) and I also asked him about the format of the interviews- they are indeed interviewing 4 of us at once. Which I guess probably makes it easier on us, so that's good :-) I wonder what they can really learn about a person when you divide 30 minutes by 4 people though, haha. Maybe the interviews aren't as important to them as the rest of our applications?
Thank you Charis649 for confirming that! I went on a group interview a long time ago for a job and I almost think it's more challenging than a one on one. You have to stand out from everyone else in the interview and you don't get the chance to really expand on your answers the same way. In that interview, they asked us all the same questions and we each had to answer it differently. The challenging part was coming up with something different than my peers when someone said exactly what I had been thinking lol. I also think 30 minutes is incredibly short, but maybe they are looking more at how we carry ourselves since they really have all of our answers in the supplemental. But I think you might be right. I'm betting they are interviewing everyone that met the basic requirements. It seems like every school I applied to has extended their deadline. Not sure if it's lack of applicants or a disappointing applicant pool or what

Congrats!! I hope your interview goes well. The sign up format is really strange, but maybe they will end up sending different room numbers than originally listed on the form. Or very short interviews! Lol I signed up for March 9th, so you will have to let us know how it goes! Good luck! :)
