UIC GEP Applicants 2015

Published

Hi everyone! I just applied for Fall 2015 entry to the Graduate Entry Program at UIC! Anyone else apply? I'm hoping to talk to some other people who are also excited/nervous about hearing back! :-)

I think my application was strong academically and in terms of the essays and recs, but I started my prereqs right after graduating last spring so I haven't had time to get any hands-on health care experience, which I hope won't be too much of a negative on my app. Does anyone know what kind of GPA and experience they look for? Also- does everyone have to interview?

Good luck guys! I hope we all make it in!!

Has anyone heard back yet?

Not yet. I wonder if "mid-April" means today or sometime this week... Good luck!!

So I was looking into checking your admissions status online and UIC's graduate school page says "Applications referred to the department will be noted as such. You will also be able to see if your application has been referred to the Graduate College for additional review."

Next to "Decision" my application says "Referred to College for Review." Does that mean the College of Nursing or the Graduate College? I know once you're approved by the College of Nursing they make a recommendation to the Graduate College for your admission, which almost all of the time goes through. What do y'all's say?

Mine also says "referred to college for review", I'm not exactly sure what that means though...

Got my acceptance email just a few minutes ago! Best wishes to all!

Me too! I'm so excited! The part about having the Graduate School support your admission is just a formality, right?

I am on the waitlist, still very hopeful though! :) congrats and best of luck to everyone!

I did too! Congrats guys! Hang in there, americar1. About the Graduate school thing, heard it is just a formality.

Is it possible for someone to make a facebook group for our cohort so we can all keep each other accountable with orientation and such? Excited to start the cohort with you all!

Hey everyone, for those of you who were directly admitted, when do you have to accept your position by? I'm trying to gauge when they'll have an exact count of those who accepted a position to let those on the wait-list know where they stand. Thanks!

Class of 2015 - just scheduled my interview for the end of this month. Just wondering if you all could share what kinds of questions were asked?
