UIC Fall 2021 BSN Program

Updated:   Published

I submitted my app for UIC yesterday. I'm anxious for the result. So for anyone else who applied what is your GPA and your extracurricular activities? I'm a transfer student with a 3.2 GPA and I've worked at an animal hospital for 3 years.
I got denied last year due to my GPA so I'm just trying to figure out my chances, and where I can improve if I get denied again. ?

does anyone know when the acceptance letters are being sent out? I've been checking my email for the last couple of days already.

Based off when people found out last year, I would assume the week of 12 - 16 of April.

that's amazing! did any of the schools reach back? I applied to NIU and got accepted just waiting to hear back from UIC. UIC drags with their admissions decisions

I only applied to 2 nursing programs - UIC and Dominican University, however, I also applied to several Neuroscience programs including NW, JHU and Michigan and biochemistry program at Layola. I know it may seem strange that they’re all different but I’m waiting for my dream universities respond first ( NW and JHU) and then I’ll see what to do next ? how about you?

That is amazing!! I really hope you get accepted as soon as possible to your dream first pick choices so you would know where you stand in terms of the waiting process. I applied only to UIC and NIU, I got an email yesterday morning from NIU that I had been accepted so im happy about that considering NIU is just as competitive as UIC as they are both public top schools across illinois. I am leaning more towards UIC in terms of location though

Congratulations! I got 2 acceptance letters so far from Dominican and Layola while I’ m still waiting for the complete evaluation of my schoolwork I did oversees for JHU and NU (because they need all the info in a world from high school etc) UIC does indeed drag their admission decisions LOL. I have to confirm my seat for 2 of my programs within 15 days while I still probably won’t know whether I got in to UIC or not ? I’m hoping the UIC admissions office won’t let us wait until the end of April but I guess we will see ?

Yeah. ? It's not looking too good. A lot of schools accepted me as a student, but said no to their nursing program. UIC is the last school to hear from. It's they deny me then I'll be going to Illinois State for Medical Laboratory Science, and just give up on being an RN. I'm hoping I get in.

Same here.  A lot of schools that I applied to offered me a seat but just not for nursing. I also think that Chamberlain may be an alternative choice for me. It might be quite expensive, but I rather get my nursing degree first. Also, I think you can try community colleges like Moraine, Malcom X, and even Joliet.

Moraine accepts in-district students first. ? So even if you have a 3.5 GPA, they will accept that in-district student that has a 3.0 GPA first. (My friend was going to go to Moraine until they told her that).

I know a few people that went to Chamberlain, but it's just so expensive for what it offers. I was thinking about it too. If I got to Illinois State, most of my tuition would be paid off by grants.
