I submitted my app for UIC yesterday. I'm anxious for the result. So for anyone else who applied what is your GPA and your extracurricular activities? I'm a transfer student with a 3.2 GPA and I've worked at an animal hospital for 3 years.
I got denied last year due to my GPA so I'm just trying to figure out my chances, and where I can improve if I get denied again. ?
Hi everyone! I’m so happy that there was a thread made, I’ve been reading past ones lmaoo. I received the invitation for the interview today. man I was so excited! lmaooo I also counted how many slots there are. I signed up for Tuesday in the afternoon! I wish everyone the best of luck & im so happy that we can keep up with each other through this thread!

don’t doubt yourself, you brought your GPA up!! that’s amazing, keep your hopes up! in regard to credentials, I have a 4.0 GPA. I’m finishing my last two prereqs this Spring. for experience, I work as an emt, had about 2 years of experience as a volunteer, & I shadowed at an e.r. for a couple months. thank you for making this thread, I think it’ll put us somewhat at ease knowing there’s others in our same position anxiously waiting!

This type of interview is not commonly used by health professions programs. However, it is the type of interview used by UIC’s College of Nursing.
In a group interview, there are typically one to two interviewers who may be current students, basic science faculty, clinical faculty/practitioners, and/or admission professionals. There may also be as few as two or as many as five applicants being interviewed at the same time.
While each group interview set-up is different, it is common that the interviewers have a set list of questions. Typically, each applicant in the group interview is asked the same question(s). In this type of setting it is important to focus on specific examples that you can use to illustrate your response. It can be easy to get lost listening to the responses of the other applicants, so remain focused on your experiences and strong points. Pre-health advisors offer mock group interviews for UIC students invited to interview with the College of Nursing. Emails are sent out with registration information in the Spring semester."

what time did you pick on Wednesday? I chose 4:00-4:30

I only got confirmation that with a chosen date, but I copied that link separately for easy access. Congratulations on your acceptance btw!! I’m still waiting to hear from JKC and few programs I applied to. It’s so crazy you already got some responses back ?. As far as the question goes, we can just throw in some general questions but you’ll never know what you get. I think starting with why you want to be a nurse and/ or on that particular program is a good start. Plus probably what are your goals and one of the STAR questions (those are behavioral questions you need to be able to solve). Hope it helps ☺️
