Anyone planning to apply to UIC's GEP for winter/spring 2012? (http://www.uic.edu/nursing/prospectivestudents/gep-about.shtml) The application opened on January 15 and is due March 1.
I just finished the primary application and am waiting to receive the secondary application to send out recommendation requests. Their application cycle is a bit odd and inconvenient, since most other places that start in the fall require deposits by late March into early April, and UIC doesn't inform you of your status until late April. But in the end, it's still a great program and worth a shot.
Welcome swimmer and fellow ACNP hopeful :) Nothing has been reported so far. Hopefully, there will be some notifications out today. I annoyed everyone at work yesterday by constantly checking my email with every *ding* notifying me of a new email so I hope to be a little better today. I never realized how much junk mail I receive...lol
Swimmer21 - I will likely be applying for Rush also! I'd love to be able to just pick up and apply to schools that are out of state (especially schools that are located near a coastline), but I'm kinda tied down to Chicago for a while.
Promise - I also have never realized the amount of annoying emails I get until now! :)
Swimmer21--I applied for the adult/geri track. I'm hoping to hear some good news today, but if not I will apply to other programs - I'll get to NP somehow!!
UIC would be a fan-flipping-tastic option, but it's also the only option I was able to apply for since other programs require so many prereqs. I have a BA in English, so I'm starting from scratch with all my science courses!
Kind of random question for everyone on here: Have any of you been able to take just one intro to Chemistry class and then been able to take the inorganic/organic classes? If you have, where did you take them? I'm hoping to get those courses done in less than a year (I know this will be quite a feat) because I'd like to be able to apply to DePaul as well.
I emailed Julie yesterday and have heard nothing... Also I took a closer look at last year's thread and made a couple observations:
1. It's half as long as ours this year and we haven't even gotten to decisions yet!
2. Very few people (only one or two) actually said when they got accepted/rejected. The rest were just waitlisters. I'm not sure what this means, other than we are clearly much more connected than last year's folks.
3. All but 2 posts on 4/26 about decisions were just that they had been waitlisted - not yea/nay
So, in other words, i have no idea.. Aside from a few of you saying Julie had said it would be the 25th, we're all pretty much in the dark. So, I've just started looking at other options so as to prevent yesterday's insanity from leaking into today and the days to come.
But good luck to everyone of course!

Dancer - I hope that your feeling is right and that today will be the end of waiting! :) Also, if you don't mind me asking, which specialty did you apply for?
