Anyone planning to apply to UIC's GEP for winter/spring 2012? (http://www.uic.edu/nursing/prospectivestudents/gep-about.shtml) The application opened on January 15 and is due March 1.
I just finished the primary application and am waiting to receive the secondary application to send out recommendation requests. Their application cycle is a bit odd and inconvenient, since most other places that start in the fall require deposits by late March into early April, and UIC doesn't inform you of your status until late April. But in the end, it's still a great program and worth a shot.
I found this thread a couple of days ago... it has been reassuring to know that I am not the only person freaking out about final decisions. I am so glad that I am not the only one refreshing my email every 30 seconds.FYI, I also applied for ACNP and there were 10 people on my email for the interview 4/4. In an email from Julie Kim, she wrote "Final notifications will be sent first via email on 4/25 and letter mailed out afterwards." But obviously there is a delay!
Good Luck everyone!! The suspense is killing my work ethic this week!
Welcome Anjle! The suspense has definitely taken a toll on all of us here. I know I told my entire team not to pay attention to anything I say this week and to double check my work...:) I didn't get any email from Julie Kim. Did you guys specifically write to ask about decisions or was this a generic email sent after interviews?
Looks like we are all having another stressful day!! It's a test to see if the ACNP hopefuls can take the stress!! Just kidding, but there definitely are a lot of us on here for that specialty!!!
I was on the 6 person email for Monday, April 4th.
It definitely seems like the email notifications go out towards the end of the day. It probably gives admissions a break for the night before their phones start ringing off the hook tomorrow!
I am also applying to Rush. I'm currently on the wait list for the June start date, but not sure I'll get in. It's getting late. So, I'll apply again for the January cohort. Both programs are excellent! DePaul's program is good too, but it's an MS degree as opposed to an MSN. Does anyone have an opinion on the difference between those? I know the MS degree is given by the university as a whole, not by the college of nursing. I thought maybe it is geared more towards research, but I really don't know. Any thoughts????
Hi everyone,
Still. Nothing. Rawr.
With regard to notification dates, I also received an e-mail from Julie Kim stating that we would hear on 4/25. Strangely, it was in response to an e-mail I sent her around the first week of March trying to verify that they had my GRE scores. I didn't ask her when we'd be notified, and my interviewer said it would be around the middle of JUNE.
In short, I'm one more person that heard we would know yesterday.
Best of luck to everyone!
