Hello future nursing students!
I didn't see a forum for those of us applying to the University of Houston - Sugar Land nursing program in the Spring of 2020, so I decided to start one. I have already submitted my application and completed my CPR certification, so now there's just the waiting. I've attached all the resources from the UH website that I could find, just for everyone's convenience.
I do have a few questions though: is anyone else having issues submitting the SSN release form? I get an error message every time I try, and I haven't heard back from the school about it yet (I emailed them asking if it had been received). Are y'all applying to other accelerated programs? If so- could you share which ones?
I was also wondering what kind of stats everyone who's applying has, or if anyone has any info about past applicants/students and the scores/extracurriculars that they had before acceptance. If anyone would be willing to share that info, it would be super appreciated!
Good luck to everyone!
~Ari

I'm not sure how many of the previous cohorts got confirmations that their applications were received. I think someone said that the only email they got was the invite to interview, and those didn't start going out until mid-September.
Yea it doesn't seem to be consistent, some said they got emails in July, some got confirmation in their junk mail, I got the one I posted yesterday and someone said they only got the invite to interview. I honestly think as long as your NursingCAS shows received and verified then all should be fine!

I'm a current student in the 2nd degree BSN program when i said we only got the invite to the interview, I was referring to our invitations from last year. I wrote the date so you guys will know when you should probably be receiving your invitation letter that's if your invited to the interview.
Hi Everyone,
I am now terrified after reading your comments. I went to an information session last fall and they said that they only look at your GPA and TEAS score and not your resume or experience. They said they wouldn't even look at letters of references... so I go the idea I didn't need to include any of it into my application. So I just wonder how much have I messed myself up? I made an 89 overall on the teas and my percentile rank is 98% (but that is against ADN. I tried to get it changed to BSN but ATI said the school chose it and only they can change it). My overall GPA is 3.66, but I took some classes before I really knew what I wanted to do and kind of messed around when I was 18.
Did anyone else have the ADN issue? Did anyone else go to an information session? How screwed am I?
I also didn't get anything other than confirmation from NursingCAS about my application being submitted.
By the way, I tried logging into NursingCas today to look at my app again and it's taking me to the "start a new application page" and I can no longer find my app that was verified on there. Is this happening to anyone else? Just a couple weeks ago, whenever I log into NursingCas I can see my app and the verified status so I'm just wondering if it's supposed to be like this now because it's a new application cycle or if something is wrong with mine...

On the main log in page to the left there is a paragraph with a link to log in to the old app, you need to log in there!
