UH 2nd Degree BSN 2020 Applicants (University of Houston Second Degree BSN Program)

Published

Hello future nursing students!

I didn't see a forum for those of us applying to the University of Houston - Sugar Land nursing program in the Spring of 2020, so I decided to start one. I have already submitted my application and completed my CPR certification, so now there's just the waiting. I've attached all the resources from the UH website that I could find, just for everyone's convenience.

I do have a few questions though: is anyone else having issues submitting the SSN release form? I get an error message every time I try, and I haven't heard back from the school about it yet (I emailed them asking if it had been received). Are y'all applying to other accelerated programs? If so- could you share which ones?

I was also wondering what kind of stats everyone who's applying has, or if anyone has any info about past applicants/students and the scores/extracurriculars that they had before acceptance. If anyone would be willing to share that info, it would be super appreciated!

Good luck to everyone!

I know I really appreciated when people posted their stats when I was applying so I thought Id do so! I had an overall 3.3 GPA and a 91 on my teas and was accepted!

Hi there! I applied to the Spring 2021 cohort and wanted to ask if there was more than 1 wave of interview invites? Thanks!

Hey Molly! I can't remember if there were really separate waves of invites, but it seemed like batches were sent out at different times, maybe based on alphabet or something. Best wishes!

Hey everyone! I will be applying for the Spring 2022 cohort and was wondering if anyone in starting in 2021 would be willing to share their stats? I have a pretty average cumulative GPA (~3.4), pretty strong pre-req GPA at the moment(still waiting to take chem and microbio in the Spring time), and will take my TEAS in the late Spring / early Summer. Does anyone know how many applications they received for 2021 as well as how many they typically accept? If I do well on TEAS and finish with a strong pre-req GPA, do I have a shot? Thanks and Good Luck to everyone!
