UH Manoa Nursing Fall 2014

U.S.A. Hawaii

Did anyone here apply for Fall 2014 admission to Manoa's School of Nursing? We're supposed to be notified in late March and I'm getting really anxious!

COngrats Kiana!!! Did you go over to UH to pick it up?

Thank you! Yeah I did, but for nothing! It came in mail like a few minutes after I got home from UH! haha. Do you know when we have to register for classes??

You should be getting an email from Michael shortly after they receive your forms and in that email he'll tell you to wait till you receive another email that contains info on all health requirements which that email won't be sent out until May 1st. After you finish all your health requirements then you can register for classes

but I heard if you are a transfer student you register last. :(

Specializes in MICU.

Congrats Kiana!!!

I think we all have a busy but exciting road ahead of us :)

Oh okay thanks!

Ugh well that sucks!

Thank you! :)

That we do! haha. I'm honestly so scared..

I got accepted today. It's dated March 19 and I have 3 days to respond. It makes me irritated .-. I accepted at another school in Cali.

Omg that's so irritating! Well at least you know you got accepted! But congratulations on both acceptances (:

Maybe there's a way you could tell that Cali school that you changed your mind & pick UH instead?

My letter got lost so I had to pay 40 dollars to overnight via Fed Ex. The acceptance letter was dated March 19, another letter dated April 2 with a stamp labeled "correction" and finally received on April 8th.

I haven't canceled yet in Cali but I know I should and probably ASAP so someone else can attend the orientation but I'm honestly scared of making such a big move and the cost isn't attractive either. It's about 30k per year for me because I'm out of state. Do you guys think doing a BSN program is better than ADN first?

Oh man that sucks! Blame the admissions office because they're the ones who sent out the transfer students' acceptance letters. That's why we got ours so late..

But yeahhh UH Manoa is so expensive :/ even for residents..with dorming and a meal plan and all that, my tuition is gonna be around 20k-27k at the most. Ugh.

As for the BSN or ADN thing, I don't really know..Because ADN saves a lot of money, but if you're eventually going to get a Bachelor's degree, then BSN route is good too. Plus, with good grades (which I'm sure all of us nursing students have lol) you can get scholarships, and even if you do take out loans, you can probably pay them back eventually when you become a nurse (:

reading through all your post about getting into nursing school kind of in a weird way makes me miss nursing school lol. its def hard work, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. the life of a real nurse is fun and worth every sleepless night. congrats to all of you. I look forward to seeing you students at queens:)
