Did anyone here apply for Fall 2014 admission to Manoa's School of Nursing? We're supposed to be notified in late March and I'm getting really anxious!

Hi lorie!

I applied for Fall 2014! I keep checking my STAR account to see if anything has changed yet lol. Did you apply anywhere else? I only applied to KCC and Manoa so I better get into at least 1 of those :nailbiting: Those letters should be coming out really soon.. let me know when you get anything!

Hi Cupycake! I applied to KCC too :) what do you look for on STAR if you got in or not? Does it tell you somehow?

Hi Cupycake!!

I've been checking STAR everyday too! I keep reading old threads to see what my chances are, but it's really unpredictable. I only applied to Manoa since I'm a freshman there right now, so I really hope I made it because I have no backup plan >.

A lot of other schools are getting their acceptance letters and I'm getting so eager!

What were your guys scores on the TEAS?

I got 89.3% total, 83.3% reading, 90% math, 87.5% science, 96.7% english

I looked at other people's scores and their admittance, and it's so surprising how some did well but still didn't make it

Hi! I only applied to KCC but I'm with you on being anxious! Letters should be coming within the next 2 weeks!! Good luck :)

Hi Kayla!

If you log into STAR, on the top right it will say "you are currently enrolled in..." and says the program you're enrolled in. If you're accepted, it should change to say that you're enrolled in the nursing program  I think it only works for the campus you're currently attending. Since I'm only attending KCC right now I think it would only change if I'm accepted into the KCC program, but wouldn't tell me anything about Manoa (someone correct me if I'm wrong).

@lorie - It's freaking scary that people who have good stats didn't get in! It makes me so nervous! You're stats are really good! Have you finished all the co-req classes?

For the TEAS I got 94% total, 90.5% reading, 96.7% math, 95.8% science, 93.3% english. I finished all the co-reqs except except pharm 203 (which I'm taking right now)

I have to say I will be very surprised if we don't get in! I saw for Fall 2014 class availability that Manoa has 56 seats open.

@brittanieee Thank you! Good luck to you too! The wait is killing me!

@Cupycake omg your scores are super good seriously!!! I think you have really good chances for a seat at Manoa! I'm finishing my all pre-reqs this sem, but I'm not taking pharm yet, I believe you don't need pharm or statistics for Manoa admission until you're in the program? But either way it's a good thing you have it out of the way later. I spoke with one of the nursing students graduating this spring and he said that there's over 300 applicants but really only 100 of them have the correct papers and met requirements. That kind of makes me feel better, but I'm still scared! I honestly think you made it, your stats are perfect lol!

@lorie Thanks! I'm still not counting my chickens before they hatch, though! LOL. I know KCC puts the most weight on TEAS scores but I don't know exactly how Manoa selects their applicants.

I can't believe only 100 out of 300 qualified! I hope I'm not one of those 200 who didn't submit everything lol. Did you get any kind of notification from them saying that they received everything? Because I didn't! But I know I did submit the checklist application and TEAS scores and that's all they required.

You're right - you don't get any extra points for completing the co-req classes. I was getting it confused with KCC. It is good to have them out of the way though.

Sigh.. I just want to know already :wacky: Hopefully by next week!

Did you hand it in person or did you mail it?? I turned it in person to the office and they gave me a receipt of my documents and then a couple weeks later I got a notification in the mail saying they received my documents and that my application is complete. Yeah there's really not much else to the application! Also are you already enrolled in Manoa? Or did you fill out an application to the school? Because I know that if you're a transfer student, you have to fill out a separate application to the actual school.
