KCC ADN and PRCN Program
Soooo I got my letter and I did not get into KCC this semester. My stats for anyone trying to figure out their chances: 1 missing coreq (pharm), 82% overall TEAS, 3.2 prereq/coreq GPA, CNA certification with 3 months experience. I hope that helps anyone out in the future! I'm going to retake my TEAS and apply to KCC and UH this time for next spring 2015, maybe retake classes over the summer. I'm not going to give up until I'm a nurse Good luck to the rest of you!! :)

UH Manoa Nursing Fall 2014
I got an 82% overall on my TEAS, and I should have applied to Manoa, but didn't lol. You guys have awesome scores! Are your first choices UH Manoa? If I do not get accepted into KCC this fall I will try both for Spring 2015. By then I will have pharm done. I didn't know about that change in STAR, thank you! I will be stalking that daily now haha

I took the lab online with Dunn- he had us mark on the laulima calendar when we were going to take the lab so that people could all go at the same time to do the lab together if we wanted to. He had us turn in lab reports too, pretty much of the results with pictures of our charts and whatnot. I think they were due within 2 weeks of the lab... The labs were lengthy but only because of all of the instructions and set up. It was easy to mess up if you are doing it by yourself, but the lab assistants there help a bit. The tests are easy if you completed the labs, and he tells you what pictures from that online interactive page & book you need to study

Kayla, I don't think u need to make another account, it should be worked out when u register for the test. I would double check with whoever you are taking the test with though :) Mmtangi, I took Dunn online at kcc last semester for 142, and only got a C. It's more of the subject matter that was difficult for me though, and taking that class online is a bit tough. I just studied his PowerPoint slides that he uploaded, the tests were pretty much from those. I didn't put in as much as effort as I should have, resulting in my C lol. I really wanted to take Shook in person. I had her for 141 and she's more of an "easier A" because she made chapter outlines. If u remember everything that are on those outlines, u will get an A on tests. She is straight forward and friendly, and she's excited about the topic. She also had group case studies during class, but those were straightforward too. As long as u participated there is no reason to not get an A on those.

Gahhh the wait though -_-; lol I took the TEAS right before the feb 1 app deadline and got a 82. The official study guide really helped me! If I don't get accepted I will retake it too. I know my prereq GPA of 3.4 is not competitive but I really don't want to retake those classes.. good luck studying! :) I heard that the practice tests are useful, but I haven't done them, I studied really last minute and just read the parts that I knew I needed help with (science, lol)

Np! Thanks for the info from the counselors about competitive scores. Even though there are 150-250+ people applying for the program, I know that a lot of those people are nonresidents so that should increase our chances! I hope not too many people apply lol.... but with them lowering the minimum TEAS score to 65 I'm sure there will be a lot more applicants. I just got my first job as a CNA in December, but I'm so glad that I did because it's such a learning experience. I really enjoy it though! It really motivates me to become a nurse. April needs to hurry on up lol
