Hey everyone,
I will be attending the nursing program in the Fall and was wondering if anyone that will be attending has signed up for their classes yet and if so which clinical did you choose? I would like to get to know my future fellow classmates before classes actually start.
I too will be driving everyday. I went to the parking office yesterday to see if a could purchase a parking pass for the lower parking structure for $142/semester instead of paying $5/day but I was told I missed the reservation period for those passes. The girl mentioned that the carpool passes are going on sale on the 18th. Anyone with 2 or more people are eligible for the pass and it also sells for $142. As far as the metered parking on University....you can park there all day but you can only pay up to 2 hours at a time which means you'll have to keep running to the meter to extend your time. As I paid my $5 for parking the other day at the lower structure, I asked if the parking lot gets full around 8am and she that there is usually still parking around that time but if I come later closer to 10am then the lot is full...
Semester parking passes are sold by seniority at the time of registration for the next semester. They usually sell out midway through the junior year registrants. Don't count on the parking structure being available on a daily basis unless you're coming to school quite early. It does fill up earlier than usual at random times and you don't want to be scrambling and missing one of your classes.
There's other options for parking off campus like parking up in Manoa and catching the shuttle down. There's a couple other routes that stop at commercial parking lots of campus as well. Check the parking website for more info.
Iris, I came across an ad on Craigslist for parking. Its a church on Vancouver Pl. That rents out their parking lot during the day. Its in the resedential area to the left of campus. They rent out the stalls for $90 a month and its assisgned stalls so your guaranteed your stall everyday. I was wondering if you would be interested? We could park there together and at least we would have someone to walk with to and from campus. It be safer than walking alone....just a thought :) let me know.
Yes! That would be great. Thank you so much. I was stressing about parking. I wanting really looking forward to having to find parking or paying $5 a day. It sounds like it would be a little cheaper too since we missed out on the parking passes. I'll look it up and see what I need to do to get a spot. What time and where are you going to park tomorrow? Want to meet a little before and we can walk to orientation together?
I'll email you the link to the Craigslist ad. I reaponded to the ad via email and am just waiting for a response. I was hoping to park in the parking structure tomorrow. I have to drop off my son at preschool at 745 by queens hopsital and then I was going to shoot it over to school. It only takes about 10 minutes or less to get there so I'm hoping there will still be parking. If you want we can meet at the structure.

Yes. I'll be driving everyday. I'm planning on parking in the lower structure but I'm hoping since I'll hopefully be getting there early enough I'll find parking along university but I know it's metered so I'm not sure how that works or how long I'll be able to park there. I've heard of people parking in the neighborhood off of maile and walking over so im going to see if that would work also.
