Hello fellow potential UFV Nursing students,

I have completed my application for Fall 2018 BSN intake and I thought that I would start a thread for open discussions, what marks everyone is applying with, concerns and such. Good luck to everyone!

The question on the second day of the information session is what is the demonstrate professionlism in clinical practice.

Okay so it was similar if not identical ours which was also about how a nurse would be professional in a clinical setting.

Zheng, is this your first time applying? Grades? Volunteer or work experience?

Just curious, don't have to answer if you don't want to...

Yes, it's my first time applying. I got 3 A+ and 1 A- with 109 volunteer hours. What I am aware of is as long as your volunteer hours accmulated more than 100 hours, you are approved to get the highest 3 points no matter how much more hours you have earned in your past volunteer experience. But I still hang in the volunteer field as of yet.

Okay cool.

Yeah I know after some set limit, having more volunteer hours doesn't get you anymore points. I was told by somebody the highest was 150?? Not sure though.

I don't have any volunteer experience just work experience. And I'm pretty sure they count it different since it's in length of time, weeks, months, years instead of hours. I have no idea what the "limit" is that they count up to.

I applied with 3As and B+ with 150 volunteer hours and a letter of leadership role( which I hope will aid my B)

But when I try and call the school of health studies I keep on getting the answering machine!!

Same thing happened when I called, I just left a message in hopes of them calling me back soon. So exciting but it's so nerve racking, I feel like the interviews are going to be tough.

Called again and was able to talk to somebody.

Apparently they are short staffed today and were on Lunch break.
