Hello fellow potential UFV Nursing students,
I have completed my application for Fall 2018 BSN intake and I thought that I would start a thread for open discussions, what marks everyone is applying with, concerns and such. Good luck to everyone!
I applied for the Jan. 2018 Intake with:
2 A's, 1 A+, 1 B I think they calculated that as a 3.83 gpa.
I had roughly 60 hours of volunteering, just over a year and a half of work experience (both at approved facilities - cannot be in an administrative position, has to have patient/resident contact, etc.)
2 references
I got auto-rejected pretty much. Not even an info session invite.
3 A's and 1 B is a 3.75gpa (so lower than my gpa). It does not guarentee an info session invite.
However, in the previous intake (Jan. 2018) I heard that there absolutely were people who got an invite to the info session with a 3.75 and some good non-academic requirements! =) I believe they did not consider anyone below a 3.75, so that was the minimum gpa. Not EVERYONE had all A's! There is hope! (..I might have fared better with more hours of work/volunteer experience, and I believe leadership postions get extra points as well.)
Hi all!
I'm applying for the first time at UFV with 4 A's and a year of work experience at ARH as a porter.
I took Eng 105 and Soc 101 last semester and this semester I'm taking Stats 104 and Punjabi 101.
We've all worked hard and I hope we can all get in.
I think it really depends on who's applying 4 A's, 3 A's...if 15 people this semester have all A's compared to 20 people the previous semester etc. I've heard that the fall semester is easier to get into because they accpt more students then the winter intake. Anyway waiting is tough!!

Wow congratulations, that's great to hear! How's the program been so far? I heard it can be super fast pace and hectic during the first semester. Was the essay hard? What was the topic given that you had to write about ? The wait is extremely nerve wracking but hopefully it's all worth it in the end!!
