Hey everyone!
I don't think there is a September 2016 page yet so I thought I would make one. :) What grades and how many hours are you all applying with? I need people to wait nervously with me.
I had my interview today along with several other students that I saw walk up looking quite nice. The interview was and wasn't what I was expecting. I prepped myself by doing research on the types of questions that they ask, how to formulate my own answers and how to make them unique to me. I did find that many of the questions were blanket questions that were very open ended... not very specific on what type of answer they were looking for. This is when you need to be confident in your answers and back up your answers with a good example. I was confident going into the interview so I can only hope that my interviewer saw that and will give good feedback. I took the opportunity to ask a good question at the end that lead into further conversation. This is when the interview felt more like an interview as we were both actively engaged in conversation rather than the interviewer working away trying to catch everything I was saying.
Now the wait begins. Good luck to everyone!
Hey guys! I just found out today that I have been accepted into the nursing program at TRU! However, TRU is my backup plan in case UFV doesn't workout because I really don't want to have to move away from home. The $500 deposit is due by April 15th, but I won't know about UFV by then, I don't know what to do! Did anyone else apply and find themselves in the same position?
Hey LindseyT, I am kind of in the same position. I applied to Kwantlen's Psych nursing as a back up and was offered a seat. I had to pay my $500 deposit over a month ago to secure my spot. It's a lot of money but worth it to make sure you get a seat somewhere. It would be quite upsetting to give up a seat and then not end up getting in anywhere else. I don't know if there is any way of getting around paying the deposit but if there is I hope you find it!
That's tough. I moved to chiliwack from Langley two and a half years ago just for the nursing program. I wanted to get to know the area as well as complete my pre reqs and take the required nursing courses, previous to acceptance.
I would try calling them, explain the situation and see if they would be willing to make an exception for a month. Nursing is incredibly competitive to get in so I would jump on any acceptance but I also would want to see what all of the universities said first. Would the deposit ne transferable to anyone else, like another student at all if you were to put it down?
Weigh out the pros and cons of going to TRU over UFV, what would happen in the event you didn't get accepted in ufv and turned down TRU and so on.
Hi everyone,
I just found this website, don't know how I didn't find it before. I also applied for the September semester. This is my second time applying. The first time I didn't get a interview but this year I got called in for an interview. Its coming up in a week. I don't really know what to expect which makes me more nervous. I applied with 3 A's and a B with around 70 volunteer hours.
As a back up plan, I applied to TRU but I haven't heard anything back from them yet. I would rather go to UFV. I saw that one of you got accepted into the TRU program. Congratulations!!! Wish everyone the best!

Definitely appreciate the advice Elena and everyone in this thread is also hoping to be in your shoes and pursue nursing at UFV. I had my interview today as well and I thought the process was really straight forward and truly you were judged on how you respond. It was very unbiased in my opinion and like emcave said there wasn't really any small talk during my interview. The best advice I can give to individuals who still have yet to take an interview much like Elena said is be confident and also clear in your answers. Don't be afraid to take a couple seconds to respond or even ask your interviewer to repeat the question!
Best of luck everyone!
