Hey!

I am just finishing up my prereqs this semester and will have everything ready to go after I get my marks back from finals in a few weeks. I am excited/nervous! I am 24 and have been working at an eye surgery office for the past almost 4 years so have lots of hours to apply with. I feel old...! But I know in the big picture life is just beginning! Anybody else applying for the January 2016 intake? Or has anyone applied before and have any tips?

And that would make sense! Maybe only new applicants got the email because you know your app is already being considered for the 2016 intake?

I also received that email, but I will be accepting my offer at Kwantlen! So one less person to worry about haha good luck!!

That's awesome checkerspf! What has made you want to accept kwantlens offer right away? I am just curious because I was also accepted there. It's difficult because I would prefer to go to ufv but from the sounds of it, we won't even know if we are accepted into the ufv program long after we need to respond to kwantlen and need to have everything in by. Is this why you are accepting kwantlen right away? I feel so pressured!

Also, do you know much about kwantlens program? I don't and wish I was able to find out more! Let me know if you do ! And congrats again! So exciting!

Thanks aelm! Kwantlen was actually my first choice over UFV so I'm happy they replied first. I live in Langley so the money I'll save on gas to and from school is a huge factor for me haha and I have heard good things about the program from a girl that I used to work with. Then again I've heard bad things, and same goes about UFV. I believe the two programs are pretty similar but who really knows haha. You could always go into Kwantlen and speak with an advisor about the program? I know it sucks for people wanting UFV, but obviously not wanting to miss out on going to school at all this year, and Kwantlen wants their deposit paid by October 9th! Good luck!!

Ahh I gotcha, that totally makes sense! That is so awesome, you've gotten into your first choice school! I hope I will be able to say the same :)

Yah I am in a tough position. I feel like going to school for nursing is a HUGE investment. I would rather put my money where I really want to go. So even if I do not get in the first time around at UFV, I will likely re-apply for fast-track in September. We will see what happens! And thanks for your feedback!

Okay you will have to give me a heads up! Does it mean anything if you are on the first or second day for info sessions that you know of? Or am I just being anxious and reading too much into things? lol. Haha. I completely agree! I know I am not actually old, I just feel behind! But in reality I know it is just society that makes me feel this way! I have worked my butt off and i am committed to doing this! so regardless of how long it takes to get in... i am going to try!
