Hi guys!
I'm starting this thread for anyone that's applying to the nursing program at UFV for the Fall 2019 intake.
We can talk about our applications, GPA, volunteer experience, and just share general information about our application proccess/experience.
Good luck to everyone that's applying!!

I first applied for the Fall 2018 intake when I was still in high school but they put me in the nursing track for this semester since I hadn't graduated yet. So I upgraded my Bio and English prereqs this semester and got an A in Bio but am still waiting for my English mark.
I also took Stats this semester [Got an A+!!! ? ] and will take Psych and Sociology + one more elective this coming winter semester so that I have all of the electives that are part of the nursing program done already.
I've got just over 150 volunteer hours in the Chilliwack hospital and keep adding to it every week still.
I've sent in all my paperwork already so as soon as I get my final grades from this semester all I can do is wait and hopefully get invited to the info session.
Good luck everyone!!

Getting into Nursing Track doesn't guarantee a spot in the next intake. It just allows you to complete the elective courses such as English, Psych/Soc, and Stats to ease your course load for the first 2 semesters if you end up getting a spot in the program. I did nursing track for one year and got all the electives taken care of but wasn't offered a seat for the Fall 2019 intake even though I had A's in all the pre-reqs and electives. My advice would be, if you have been offered a seat in another program which you're able/willing to accept to do so.
I am so sorry to hear you didn't make it into Fall 2019 intake. I have until June 5 to make a decision. CNC is so far from home. My application does not appear as strong as many others. I have A-English and Bio and B in Pre-calc 11 and 12 and B in Chem 11 and 12. I have been a volunteer at the local hospital 4 years (this year youth advisor-leadership role) I am also employed as a lifeguard and swim instructor. Otherwise, I excelled in the arts (music-theatre-performance) Can you tell me how many nursing track students there are? Also, will you be able to transfer those credits to another University for BSN?

You can click this link here and it will show which classes are transferable https://www.bctransferguide.ca/ I found it off of UFV’s site https://www.ufv.ca/calendar/current/General/Transfer.htm
