Hi guys!

I'm starting this thread for anyone that's applying to the nursing program at UFV for the Fall 2019 intake.

We can talk about our applications, GPA, volunteer experience, and just share general information about our application proccess/experience.

Good luck to everyone that's applying!!

Hey, I'm just working on pre reqs! The deadline is jan 31 right!!

Hey guys!

I'm also applying to the fall 2019 intake. I'm just finishing off my chemistry prerequisite, and then my application will be complete. Is this everyone's first time applying to UFV?

Hey everyone,

Applying for the first time.

Pre-reqs:

Eng105- A-

Bio12- A+

Chem 11- A+

Math PC- A+

Volunteer hours: 150+ with leadership roles

What are your pre req's like?

I'm applying with 3 A's (hopefully 4 if everything goes well with chem). I also have a degree in forensic psychology, and I have eight years worth of volunteer experience in a hospital setting. I've applied in the past, but I'm hoping it works out this time around :) What are the rest of you applying with? I know how stressful the application process is, but I'm hoping we can help and motivate each other :)

Hey guys,

I first applied for the Fall 2018 intake when I was still in high school but they put me in the nursing track for this semester since I hadn't graduated yet. So I upgraded my Bio and English prereqs this semester and got an A in Bio but am still waiting for my English mark.

I also took Stats this semester [Got an A+!!! :) ] and will take Psych and Sociology + one more elective this coming winter semester so that I have all of the electives that are part of the nursing program done already.

I've got just over 150 volunteer hours in the Chilliwack hospital and keep adding to it every week still.

I've sent in all my paperwork already so as soon as I get my final grades from this semester all I can do is wait and hopefully get invited to the info session.

Good luck everyone!!

I am relieved to know others are in the same boat as I am. The process is nerve racking. What are your volunteer experiences like? I know they cap everyone out at 100 hours so no credit for additional. I am curious how they differentiate them. I spoke to an advisor and he said that the real completion is really between 50-60 people as most people apply with the bare minimum.

Hey everyone,

i was wondering if someone could help me... I've applied for the September 2019 entry and I've submitted all my forms and given my references the form as well but they won't show up on the online application thing as received. Would the school tell me if my job and volunteer doesn't count towards health care experience? I'm really worried because I want a shot at this intake!

I work as a housekeeper at a residential care facility and I also volunteer with inpatient youth in mental health but I only have around 25 hours for my volunteer so I'm relying on my job's reference and hours for my application.

Ps. My grades are

Math A+

Chem A+

Bio A+

English A

This is the email of the lady that handles the admissions. [email protected]. Try emailing her and call the registrars office to inquire as well. I hope it works out.

I'm sure the work experienced is equivalent, if not better than volunteer!

From what I'm thinking, whichever hour amount is greatest will be considered, as long as it's in health care

I'm applying too! :)

Thanks guys! I’ve emailed them and my references are sending in their forms again. Hopefully it works this time ?when your references sent in the form did it show on the application portal?
