  1. Hi everyone! I made a Facebook group for the 2019 Fall intake, fast track and 4 yr! It will be a good way to get to know e/o and ask questions bc were gonna be spending the next 3/4 years together haha... feel free to add yourselves and others not on this forum! It’s called “UFV nursing Fall 2019 intake (class of 2022/23)” ? looking forward to meeting everybody!
  2. I GOT IN! 4 YR OPTION!!!
  3. Hi guys! I am an applicant to the Fall 2019 intake and I just got my interview invitation. I know you’re not allowed to tell me any questions that you had, but would anyone have any insight on the type of questions that were asked? I’m trying to write a list of questions to study from. Are they experience based, nursing knowledge or other? I would be very appreciative if you let me know! Thanks
  4. Hey Kaitlyn, I’ve been looking at other forums and I think we’re in the same boat! I’ve also applied to a bunch of schools (8: ubc, ubco, tru, oc, unbc, U of A, UFv, and viu). I’m really worried that the deadlines won’t match up, as in the acceptance deadline for one (if I even get accepted lol) will be before I even hear back from another, especially bc the deadline for acceptance for UFV is so late, May 31.
  5. Hello everyone, I am also an applicant for Fall 2019! I have all A’s for the prerequisites but barely any volunteer hours, so I’m really counting on my essay/interview to pull me through! I was wondering how many people were at the info session? Mine is on the 11th :)
  6. Hey guys! I'm a student at SFU applying to this intake as well. One of the advisors at SFU actually used to be a nursing advisor at BCIT (lucky for me), so she told me some pretty helpful things. You're right, there is a specific scale for work experience, but if you have none they'll for sure consider volunteer experience, just not on as big of a scale. There's also a little part at the bottom of the application where you can write all of the extra volunteering and other things that make you a strong applicant, and she strongly suggested not leaving that blank. Apparently lots of ppl do bc they think that it won't be read, but it really is, and could make a difference. But ya, they do look at work experience : GPA at about a 60:40 ratio apparently, which sucks for those of us (like me) who are young students who haven't worked in the field, but it does make sense. :)
  7. Hello! I've been super interested in nursing school for a while and have been following this websites and the really helpful conversations on it. I'm in the process of getting my prerequisite courses at SFU right now, as a 3rd year student. Timing-wise, I will be able to apply to BCIT this fall, for the 2019 fall intake. I'm also going to apply to UBC and UFV. To anyone who is also applying, feel free to add to this thread! I know it's a bit early, but admissions are a super anxious time, and I wanted to get the ball rolling early :)
