Hey everybody! Anyone applying for the above mentioned program? I haven't had luck finding any threads, in regard to this, for that specific year. I would like to find people who are so we can keep in touch through this process.
Hello guys! I’m pretty late to post, but I’m also one of those who applied for the program for Summer 2021. I barely used this website before, want to make sure I read all your comments. Does anyone know the statistics for the GPA of people that are accepted?
thank you! And good luck to all!

I asked this and they said "On average, students recalculated GPA’s are around a 3.5. We do not have a minimum or average HESI score that we require." They said they wanted us to make sure to do our best because the HESI does make up a part of the holistic process, but looks like they don't have averages.
I'm also not sure what "recalculated GPA" means, but those are the exact words they said and I was too afraid to ask ?

I’m pretty sure the recalculated GPA is the last 60 credits of your undergraduate degree.

Hello! Thank you for posting here. Would you mind telling me what was your GPA when you got accepted? I saw somewhere online that the average for BSN was 4.4-4.6... And also how many hours a day and days a week an actual classes for, etc? the schedule overall? Thank you!
Hey everyone! I am currently a student in the Gainesville 2021 cohort. If you have any questions feel free to ask!
The "holistic applicant" is very true. I was terrified I wouldn't get in. I had a lower undergrad GPA and no prior medical experience, but I did well on the HESI (mid-high 90s). I truly believe the reason I was accepted were my essays.
To touch on the program: it can be a little disorganized (my cohort has really struggled with admin at times). I've been told from people in prior cohorts that had to join ours that it is much more organized now than it was a year ago, so hopefully it's getting better. It's been a big learning curve because we've been all online and teaching ourselves. Thankfully we have more clinical time this semester than we have before, and I think once the '22 cohort comes in it's going to be closer to normal than it is now. I've also been really fortunate with some great clinical rotations and wonderful professors.
To survive in this program, it's really a "we're all in this together" mentality. My cohort has a groupme we're all in to remind each other of due dates, we have a master calendar in a Google drive, and post various study materials in the drive as well. Make friends, get a study group (if you study well that way), be flexible, and DON'T get behind. Seriously, you'll never catch up. There are a lot of moving parts in this program, so being flexible is key. Time management will make or break you.
Overall, I'm happy with the program. There's been a few times I was so frustrated that I questioned why I ever chose UF's program, but it's gotten a lot better. If you are accepted, don't let any prior students' stories scare you or give you a preconceived notion. There was a post on AllNurses before I started that drug the program through the mud, but so my experience is no where close to what that post claimed. Have an open mind, and make the most of the experience!
Good luck to all of you!

Hello! Thank you for sharing your experience! Would you mind please sharing with me a little more details about the schedule? IS it 8 am-5 pm classes back to back 5 days a week? Thanks

No it's not! Keep in mind our schedules look different than normal because we were 100% online due to COVID, and currently only have skills/sim/clinicals in person while lectures are via zoom. Semester 1 we had lecture 3 days a week (4 classes total), each class was about 2 1/2-3 hrs long, and then we had exams on Fridays. Semester 2 we had lecture 3-4 days a week (5 classes), for about 2-3 hours each, and an exam every Monday. We also had a 3 week lecture/exam break in the middle of this semester that was dedicated to in-person skills and clinical rotations (COVID precaution, this is not normal). Semester 3 we have lecture 2 days a week for 2-3 hrs each, and 1-2 days of clinical rotations (6-7 hrs each).
You can look on CON's website for syllabi and schedules from current & past semesters if you're curious.
