Hi all!
It's pretty early on but I'd love to meet and chat with the potential applicants for this program. I also think it'd be great to have this forum in case we stumble upon application questions and such. Maybe some successful applicants in the past may pop in to say hello as well!
What are your feelings about this program or even UF in general? Are you applying to other programs? Where are you from?
I am applying to the UF Jax program, I live in Jax and work at Memorial Hospital as a Recreational Therapist. I am completing my last two pre-reqs (micro and nutrition) and I am NERVOUS about getting in... I am also applying to JU ABSN and having my absolute fallback be a for profit nursing program. I have a 3.07 undergrad, with my pre-reqs at a 3.45. The only thing I really have going for me is my personal/interview skills, and some experience in healthcare. Just praying I get A's in these last two classes and then pray that I get in!!!
You can do it, study hard (I really liked micro when i took it)! I think you have a good shot, especially if you can talk about how working as a recreational therapist influenced your decision to go into nursing in your essay. Good luck!!!

Hi guys! I am also applying to the 2018 summer program and let me just say thank you for this thread! I was so confused about a lot of things but you guys are all collectively very helpful. In regards to the letters of recommendation, what do they mean by professional? I have a couple recommendation letters from my professors so I suppose those would be considered academic. I shadowed my ARNP gynecologist for a few weeks so would that be considered a professional source? Also when it says to calculate your junior/senior GPA is that after 60 credits or 90? When I entered college I had almost 60 credits already with all my AP classes and dual enrollment. Sorry if these sound like dumb questions I'm just a nervous wreck haha
Hi there!!
Glad this thread is helpful! I definitely think we are all benefiting from it :-)
gskpriya96 answered the credits question for you, but I also wanted to also agree to check with Kenneth about "Professional Letters". I would assume a letter from someone you shadowed should be fine, but double checking couldn't hurt. I'd be surprised if they won't accept that.

Hi everyone! I am applying to the program as well and am a nervous wreck. I graduated from Georgia College & State University back in May with my degree in Public Health and have moved back home to pursue nursing. So glad that there is a thread going for this :) I am applying to USF as well. Does anyone know how competitive both UF and USF are? I have a 3.8 gpa on my last 60 credit hours and was an intern at a hospital back in GA but my pre-req gpa is somewhat low (A&P kicked my butt). Do you think I have a good chance of getting in?
I will definitely ask! That's another thing, I was wondering how to contact Kenneth. I'm probably blind but I couldn't find any contact information on the website.
You can contact him via email: [email protected] :-)
