UF Accelerated BSN, Summer 2018

Hi all!

It's pretty early on but I'd love to meet and chat with the potential applicants for this program. I also think it'd be great to have this forum in case we stumble upon application questions and such. Maybe some successful applicants in the past may pop in to say hello as well!

What are your feelings about this program or even UF in general? Are you applying to other programs? Where are you from?

I sent my application and check on June 1st. The check was processed a week later. I haven't heard anything back. I'm not sure what to expect either? I'll probably follow up soon because I feel like it shouldn't take this long...

Yeah maybe we should call or something..? This process is making me anxious and I'd rather turn things in, if I'm missing any, now. Or I have to wait until fall since I will be travelling soon..

Well nursingCAS doesn't open until August, maybe there will be more info when that opens.

Hi all!!!

Sorry for my late reply! I haven't heard back for my admissions (post bacc) from both USF and UF. The check was processed but no feedback. I know it takes a few months for this part of admissions but I'm planning on calling if I don't hear back the first week of August. :(

So I think a lot of us are in the same boat!

Ok, so now I am wondering... Do we need to be 'accepted' from this initial post bac. application to apply through nursingCAS when it opens? Or do we submit the post-bac app and fill out everything in nursingCAS without any feedback from the post bac app...? And find out if we are accepted to the program all together later next year? I'll definitely email Kenneth about that if nobody here has an answer.

Hi!!! It is my understanding that you need to be accepted as an undergrad/post bacc before applying but checking with Kenneth couldn't hurt. I haven't spoked to anyone further at UF yet, but I talk to my advisor quite often at USF and I found out that I'm not gonna know about the undergrad app until September, meaning can't apply to nursing until then either (and I would assume a decision wouldn't be made until probably November). I hope UF is a little quicker about this though. It helps that you can work on your nursingcas app beforehand at least. But then it seems it'll just sit there until you hear back from the initial app. :(

I don't know either but I guess it wouldn't hurt go look at the nursingCas app when it opens. All I heard from my friend who is in nursing school was that we have to do both applications. But I don't know if the first one has to be approved for us to start the nursingcas. So it's definitely a question for Kenneth, especially because we haven't hear from postbacc

I thought so too! But I started second guessing myself because nobody has heard back (at least in this thread) regarding their post bac app. I will email Kenneth and see what he says. Thanks for the response and from everyone else as well. Makes me feel a little less in the dark. :)

So I checked nursingCas but the UF app isn't on there yet.. I thought it was gonna be open August 1st but I guess I'm being hasty or something so I have to wait. But if you guys see the see the same thing or anything different, please let us know!
