UF Accelerated BSN, Summer 2018

U.S.A. Florida

Hi all!

It's pretty early on but I'd love to meet and chat with the potential applicants for this program. I also think it'd be great to have this forum in case we stumble upon application questions and such. Maybe some successful applicants in the past may pop in to say hello as well!

What are your feelings about this program or even UF in general? Are you applying to other programs? Where are you from?

Is there an essay for the application? I didn't think there was...

Are y'all applying anywhere else besides UF? I'm looking at UNF, UCF and USF also. I mailed my postbacc application on June 1 and they cashed the check yesterday. I'm hoping that means I'll hear something soon. In the meantime, I'll start on the NAS. Have y'all looked at that yet?

Hopefully with this I can enhance my essay for the apolication!! So what are your plans after RN? :)

AHHH Sorry for my late reply (I didn't get an email that you responded! HAH) Yeah, I think that would be great for the essay (If there is one, for some reason I thought they didn't have). But it's definitely something that you have to talk about in an essay or interview! And I actually think I will do something similar, but I'm unsure right now if I'll do my master's or DNP. Since I want to work in Oncology, I think being an NP may be the way to go. Although I'm still exploring my options to be honest.

I didn't think there was either. The only one that I'm applying to that does (or so I thought) is Miami, but they don't have an interview.

I'm personally applying to UF, USF and recently I decided to also apply to Miami after talking to a few students and the advisor there. USF is my home, so if you have any questions about it or Tampa, I could definitely help out. :-)

And that's great! Step 1 complete!!! I actually called today because mine hasn't been cashed yet and I sent it around the same time, but I know mail can be slow. Hopefully it will go through soon! And mine is actually done, it's very straightforward although entering grades by hand can sort of be a pain. :-)

Personally, my focus is to apply for UF both at Gainesville and Jax, mainly because it's closer to home and since I'm used to UF already haha. I still have yet to start my application because I wanted to be sure of my summer grades first before I calculated them. In that case, this is the last week and I'm almost done, hopefully I'll get an A (fingers crossed)! And from what I heard there is an Essay for the UF application.. hopefully that isn't too bad. Also, do you guys know if this qualifies as a bachelor's program for financial aid? I want to know so if it is I can apply for it..?

That makes sense, I'd love to be closer to home if I could as well! So I hope you get in! And you have a point. I'm still taking a pre-req but I plan I sending in an updated transcript in the future. :-) Good luck with those classes!!!

And I didn't know about the essay (didn't see it on the website), but if there ends up being one in CASPA, no problem!

As for the financial aid, from my understanding I wouldn't see why it wouldn't. I think Financial aid only covers to a certain number of credits, so I think at some point you may end up having to pay out of pocket once you reach that limit in the program. But that's definitely a question Kenneth could answer!

Good news!! My payment went through for my UF undergrad application!!! Yippee!!

Quick Question: So I called UF Office of Admission to ask about the application and they told me to put BSN Accelerated or Nursing BSN Accelerated for the planned major department. I put "BSN Accelerated." Is that what you guys put as well? Just wanted to make sure :)

Also we don't round the self reported GPA right?

Hey guys, have you heard anything after submitting the Post Bacc app? I sent it on the 27th I think but I haven't heard anything yet. So I was wondering if you both did or not..?

Hi there, can anybody shed some light on how long it took UF to get back to you regarding your initial application? (the post bac one)!

Hi! So I sent mine in on around June 27th and I saw they cashed in my check July 7th. That's howbi know they received it but other than that I haven't heard anything. I don't know what to expect either..

Ok. I sent mine out on the 7th. So they should be cashing mine soon? If you can let me know when they get back to you!
