UF Accelerated BSN, Summer 2018

Published

Hi all!

It's pretty early on but I'd love to meet and chat with the potential applicants for this program. I also think it'd be great to have this forum in case we stumble upon application questions and such. Maybe some successful applicants in the past may pop in to say hello as well!

What are your feelings about this program or even UF in general? Are you applying to other programs? Where are you from?

I applied to the Jacksonville campus because I live here and got wait listed. Any one else on the wait list? 3 more weeks of impatiently waiting...

Thank you! Do you mind me asking about how much it ended up costing? I heard around $12,000? Also, were there any options for applying for scholarships?

Tuition itself will be around $3500/semester. Depending on where you live, living cost will be expensive. Expect to spend about $1000-1500/month if you go to Jacksonville because Jax is way more expensive than Gville, also the commute depending where you live in Jax.

Scholarship will be given in the spring and summer, after 2 semester as a nursing student. They will send information on how to apply. It is basically apply and you are guaranteed will get it.

You can find job and work. Some people in Jax are working fulltime to PRN.

Congrats to all who got accepted! Now, make a group on Facebook for Jax and Gville. And add all who got accepted. My Jax cohorts created one and we still use it till now to post important stuffs. Lol! And I would be happy if I can join y'all group!

See you all Jax peeps in the Summer!

I don't mind starting a FB group for the Jacksonville students! If you want to email or reply back with your names I will add you! My email is [email protected]

Thanks for the info. Would you be interested in selling any of your books? Or do you have any suggestions on material that we can start familiarizing ourselves with. What was it like in the beginning ?

Any piece of advice is welcomed. Thanks :)

I got in and was placed at the Gainesville campus! Congratulations to everyone else who got accepted as well, this is a major accomplishment! I am beyond thrilled and honored but will most likely be giving up my spot if I get into UCF, so those who are waitlisted just hang in there! I know of some other people planning on doing the same thing. To those who didn't get in, please don't give up on yourself! Use this time to get more experience and apply again next year, just don't give up.

For future applicants looking at this thread - my UF GPA was about 3.85, pre-req GPA was 4.0, and science pre-req GPA was also a 4.0. I had a lot of volunteer experience as well! Congrats again and best of luck to everyone in their future endeavors!!

Hello fellow nursing students and the ones that are pursuing a nursing career,

I checked my email and I got my acceptance letter for the Gainesville campus. My Facebook, Instagram, snapchat, is @taliejules and my email is [email protected], if you want to add me please feel free and I could answer any of your questions and I am also looking for a roommate. CONGRATULATIONS to everyone that got accepted and the ones that did not, don't give up, anything is possible with hard work and determination.

I also am receiving the same issue!

I am looking for a roommate!

Thanks for creating our group on facebook.

I would say the average is around 12,500. You have to take into account books and other added resources/material. There are scholarship opportunities but they don't award much so be mindful of that as well.

Is the payment broken up through semesters or do you pay all at one time?
