UF Accelerated BSN, Summer 2018

Published

Hi all!

It's pretty early on but I'd love to meet and chat with the potential applicants for this program. I also think it'd be great to have this forum in case we stumble upon application questions and such. Maybe some successful applicants in the past may pop in to say hello as well!

What are your feelings about this program or even UF in general? Are you applying to other programs? Where are you from?

what were your credentials if you don't mind me asking?

Hi everyone - I've tried contacting Kenneth multiple times over the course of this process to no avail. We would have found out via email today right? Any idea if they are doing multiple rounds of emails? I have other schools waiting for my response but it depends on this acceptance or rejection! Thoughts?

@jlb17, I am having issues using the link too. I got accepted into the Gainesville campus! Maybe they haven't activated it yet? Maybe by next week it should be working.

I got into Jacksonville!!! Congrats everyone!

Got accepted to the Gainesville campus!! Anyone going to be looking for roomies??

Aahhhh!! So this is why my email is floodingí ½í¸‚ congratulations to everyone this is a very exciting and life changing time for you all. If you did not get the decision you desired remember DON'T give up!!!!!! Again congratulations everyone and welcome to the GatoRNurse family!!!!!

Thank you! Do you mind me asking about how much it ended up costing? I heard around $12,000? Also, were there any options for applying for scholarships?

Congratulations, everyone! I will be looking for roommates in JAX. Hmu :)

Specializes in Neuro ICU.

I got into Jacksonville, but after reading some of the comments I'm a little disappointed I didn't get Gainesville. I really don't know if I'm gonna accept or not. :/

Anybody know when classes actually start?

Did not get in :( This is really tough for me because my circumstances in life are not really easy and is extremely complicated as well. I guess I will continue to pursue getting in somewhere else in the fall etc. I do want to ask those who got in, what were your credentials?

My Last 60 credit GPA and prerequisite are around 3.7

Only problem is, my prerequisite GPA is probably noted around 3.4 instead because I am currently taking 3 prereqs as of now. I feel this could have been a factor. Also, most of my ECs revolved around what I did as a premed, and could be an issue? I am an older applicant and I simply do not have the leisure to do whatever ECs I want etc.

I want to know what I can do to boost my application for other schools I guess. I am very passionate about going into nursing to workin the rheumatology field, so this is extremely disheartening to me. I have mid terms next week too lol.

As for GPA, I have nothing really else I can do. I graduated from my university with premed courses under my belt, and currently taking some prereqs for nursing at a the local college here (santa fe). I also have some upper level science stuff I did well and got As (chem, organic I and II etc.)

Any of you guys been rejected and tried again and got in this time? Any suggestions such as doing more hands on clinicals?

I am currently thinking about getting a CNA license to just work and work on applications since I have nothing else I can do currently unless I decide to just go to graduate school.

I still have tons of schools to apply to, but UF acceptance would have really helped me so much financially since I live with my brother here who has disabilities. But I won't give up applying to other schools.

Also, one reason I applied to UF was they didn't seem to require exams such as TEAS etc. would you guys suggest me taking the TEAS for a wider application possibility? Not sure if I will be able to take the TEAS and apply by deadlines for fall. How difficult is it and how long does it take to study?

I would so take your spot but too bad I wasn't even wait listed. straight up denied. I was actually pretty surprised too because my requirement GPA for nursing is really not bad at all. I think I did well on my personality thing too. I am one of the few people who actually banks on actual interviews because I am confident about it lol too bad it was in online form.

I got in to the Gainesville campus! So excited and if anyone needs roommates I'm looking.
