UF Accelerated BSN, Summer 2018

Published

Hi all!

It's pretty early on but I'd love to meet and chat with the potential applicants for this program. I also think it'd be great to have this forum in case we stumble upon application questions and such. Maybe some successful applicants in the past may pop in to say hello as well!

What are your feelings about this program or even UF in general? Are you applying to other programs? Where are you from?

I emailed Kenneth and he said "Notifications will be released by the end of February via emailed letter."

Fingers crossed! Good luck :) The wait is intense

Simulation is pretty decent at the Gainesville campus; we have all sorts of manikins with different purposes and features (i.e. some talk, give birth, have HR and RR, while some do not). I have heard from various people in Jax that the resources are not as great there and they certainly do not have as many manikins as we do in Gainesville, because we have twice as many people. To be honest, you learn 10x as much in the hospital than you ever will in any sim lab (unless you have simulation actors which we do not get access to on either campus), so I wouldn't worry about the sim experience too much. Both campuses have the same hours of clinical and that is the important thing.

Hey guys! I have also applied to the ABSN program for this coming summer! I am anxiously awaiting news and was wondering if anyone has heard anything more specific than the end of Feb. ? I am just trying to get an idea of when the letters will come so I am not constantly checking my e-mail :)

Good luck to all of you guys!!!

They mentioned the end of February to most people. So I don't think anyone has heard anything yet :(

I honestly think it may be next friday . Last year decisions were sent out on February 24th .So I am thinking decisions will come out Friday February 23rd this year.Thats only a guess though.

Someone else said possibly around Valentine's day, so I've been checking every second today. The anxiety is real! HAHA!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

I understand your frustration ! February 14th is usually the date that potential

Undergraduate freshman get their decisions on whether they gained acceptance into the university .

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! I think it might be next Friday too! Im really nervous!! Hoping and Praying!

Any older applicants? Also does anyone know how many were invited to take the online assessment? The email had about 280 people on it but someone suggested it was sent out in batches.

When I saw the email, it had 260 to 275 in the email.

Does anyone know the acceptance rate? Or what they look for the most?
