Hi all!
It's pretty early on but I'd love to meet and chat with the potential applicants for this program. I also think it'd be great to have this forum in case we stumble upon application questions and such. Maybe some successful applicants in the past may pop in to say hello as well!
What are your feelings about this program or even UF in general? Are you applying to other programs? Where are you from?
Late Feb to mid March seems to be when the decisions are generally out, but I don't know when the due date for the app was for those years.
I'm probably in the minority hoping it's more toward March, just because I am applying to another university and their decision aren't out until March 12th or so. I'm hoping the deadline for the deposit for UF is after I get a decision on the other university, so the later the decisions, the more likely the deposit deadline is after the 12th.
I can understand that. I hope you get into the school of your choice. I am hoping for the Jacksonville location. If you don't mind me asking, what is your first bachelors in ? Mine is health science with a concentration in public health/ health education. I wish I would have done nursing from the start!
Hey, I think it is neat that you have something that is completely different from your major. That is the beauty of this degree, we all get a second chance(or at least, hope so) at pursuing our dreams of nursing.
Recently, I had an opportunity to complete an internship in the trauma and ED department at UF Jacksonville. This was mostly just a shadowing experience, but it really affirmed my desire to pursue nursing.
On a side note: Did you find the application process very tedious and convoluted. I hope I did everything correctly, I did get an assessment, but still a little worried that something got messed up along the way. fingers crossed.
If any of the current UF nursing students are still paying attention to this thread, I have a quick question.
What's the simulation resources/sim lab like (in both campuses--but I'm personally interested if Jax also has the same stuff)? Do you have SimMan/SimBaby manikins or something similar? I imagine Gainsville does at least?

6 guys would be about 10% of the class; in the profession guys represent about 10% of registered nurses so I would say those numbers are about what should be expected in nursing school. I am not sure if gender gives you preference in the application process but you are considered a minority.
