I wanted to start an offical thread for those applying to UF's accelerated BSN for the Summer of 2021! I know its still pretty early but I thought we could use this platform to support one another and share our own journeys through this process.
I am pretty nervous for this process. However, UF's hollistic approach toward each of its applicants gives me hope and reassurance.
Just a little about myself
I am currently finishing my last semester at USF. My last 60 hr credit GPA is pretty average as per UF's usual standards standing at about a 3.4. My cumulative is not too great so hopefully I am not penalized for having a low overall GPA. I have research experience and a publication to my name so hopefully that may hold some weight. Besides that, I have a lot of various volunteer experiences that are non-health care related.
I was specifically curious to know how much weight health care experience holds for admissions. I worked as a scribe for about one year where I was able to gain perspective into the nursing field eventually influencing my decision to pursue nursing. Besides that, I don't really have very much experience working directly with nurses or CNA's for that matter.
I was also curious to know more about the HESI A2 test if anyone knows more about that.
I would love to hear about everyone elses stats and experiences, how you are going about the admissions process in general.
I'm really hoping hes just saying that to get us off his back and maybe have us calm down by saying its not gonna be today ? Thats a bit ridiculous if its next week ngl, those that are accepted need to find places to live and figure out arrangements ASAP. I really hope its still today.
Yeah, I completely understand and it be really disappointing if we don’t find out today. I guess if we don’t hear anything back by 5-530, it might be safe to assume next Friday will be when we find out. ?
Guys, I also forgot to mention something else ------------------- had shared with me which was also disheartening for hear, he said very clearly that even the most qualified applicants get declined because of the program’s limited access. What I failed to ask him was if those who are qualified get waitlisted, urggghhh.....

I emailed --------------------- today to ask him if they’re definitely coming out Friday or if they be released during the week whenever it’s finalized. I’ll let y’all know what he says.
I kinda let him know it was because I was trying to get all my ducks in a row for if I should be accepted.

OMG, you guys......... This is gonna be a long freakin’ week, uugghhh. If anyone hears back from our advisor, please share in this forum. I am ready to either be happy or disappointed. This wait is killing me!

OMG ? I’m literally gonna be at the edge of my seat everyday until Friday. I hope Friday is the final day for us all to finally know because the wait is seriously torture. Thanks for sharing, Lauren! I’ll keep y’all updated if I hear or read anything. <33

Thank you for finding that out, Lauren! I believe it will be Friday since the University likes to notify people on Fridays LOL. It's just a little stressful because all the incoming freshmen found out their decisions this past Friday, meaning living spots are starting to fill up! Also...... the anxiety is not getting any better the longer they make us wait!
But again, Goodluckkk to everyone who applied and try to focus on something else and don't let the anxiety eat away your week ? #PositiveVibes

No, I believe their application is due around this time and they find out in May/June. I applied 2 years ago to the Traditional Program and I think the deadline was March 1 and I found out the Friday of Memorial Day Weekend.
