UCSF New Graduate RN Residency Program 2018

Hey all!

I graduate with my BSN in April 2018.

I was just curious if anyone has any information about the 2018 Nurse Residency Program at University of California at San Francisco Medical Center? Are they even having residencies in 2018? Anyone know about their timeline and cohorts in previous years?

Although their website says to search for "RN Residency Program" as the keywords, this search pulls nothing up for me.

Any information is appreciated!

I tried to search up the same thing and also had no responses. There doesn't seem to be much other information out there on the new cohort either so I am a little confused. Let me know if you hear or see anything about it - I will too!

I've been looking and checking around every now and then (most recently tonight) but haven't seen anything yet. I'm not technically a "new grad" but I'm an NP that's brainstorming ways I could get more inpatient RN experience before I consider applying for acute-care NP programs. Not sure I even qualify to apply along with the rest of you but even if I can't, if I hear anything I'll post it here!

It seems from previous threads, UCSF's RN residency program starts in the fall, with applications opening up around April.

I work at UCSF as a nursing assistant and just heard that the training program dates are set. The application opens in March this year, and the program starts in October. Good luck to everyone, I know competition is fierce. Crossing my fingers cuz working as a RN at UCSF is my dream!!! :)

Thanks for sharing that information! Do you have any idea what units would be hiring, or is it just Med-Surg? And is it the adult or children's hospital? Thanks!

Honestly, I'm not sure which units are hiring. On the app apparently it lists all of the ones that are participating and you can pick which ones you want your app sent to. Peds and Adult both participate, same dates. Sometimes, spots open up later in the year, so they may or may not open up a second application window in like July before the October start date.

Thanks for the info! Do you know if you're allowed to have RN hours prior to applying? I know some residency don't want any. Thank you!

Just heard from the recruiter, the app will open in mid April instead! Just a heads up everyone

Thanks for the info, newrnsk7! Do you know if the information for that will ever be posted on their RN Training Programs website in the near future? Also, do you know what will we be needing for the application? Is there an essay portion?
