UCSF New Graduate RN Residency Program 2018

Published

Hey all!

I graduate with my BSN in April 2018.

I was just curious if anyone has any information about the 2018 Nurse Residency Program at University of California at San Francisco Medical Center? Are they even having residencies in 2018? Anyone know about their timeline and cohorts in previous years?

Although their website says to search for "RN Residency Program" as the keywords, this search pulls nothing up for me.

Any information is appreciated!

Thanks so much!

They don't really post specific information about dates and units on the website, I think, just the job requisitions once they're open. You have to search for the postings, so check every day. I'm not sure if there's an essay portion but you should definitely write a cover letter.

Thanks for that info! How do you get in touch with a recruiter?

Does anybody know or has anybody verified with a recruiter about whether or not you need to have your license in hand to apply?

New Grad applications are up on the UCSF career site NOW!!! Good luck to everyone applying, there are quite a few positions posted :)

Do you know if we can apply to multiple units?

Yeah you're welcome to apply to all the ones you're qualified for!

Does anyone know if there is a place to attach a cover letter? It seems they don't require a cover letter for the app, but I just want to make sure Im not missing anything.

Is anyone applying to the ICN?

Goodluck!

You can attach it on your profile if you go to "My Activities." Not sure how that works if you apply to more than one unit and your cover letter is specific but hope that helps! :)

Does anyone know if it will be an issue if I applied last night but didn't upload my cover and reference letters until today? Do they review them right away or not until after closing date? Lol I might be overthinking this..

I'm sure that's fine!! The application didn't even ask for those specifically anyway, so it's not like you were missing items. And they probably haven't reviewed it between when you submitted the app and the supplemental pieces so I think you're okay :) good luck!!

I don't know if anyone else did this, but i combined my cover letter and resumé into one file and uploaded it to each of the positions I applied to. I wanted to tailor each cover letter to the specific units that I submitted my application for. I ended up applying to M/S ICU, Neuro ICU, and Cardiovascular/Thoracic/Transplant (CVT) Units!

Where did you all apply? :)

I saw on the site that as long as you get your license before 9/8 you should be good to apply! :)
