UCSF New Grad Residency Program April 2021

Published

I just wanted to make sure there was a place to talk about the New Grad Residency Program at UCSF that begins April 2021. Does anyone know how many applications they expect to receive for this cycle? Also, does anyone have insight to which units will open for the October 2021 New Grad cycle?

Can you share the link?

Did you guys submit only cover letter & resume or additional documents as well? Some hospitals are very particular and only want what they ask for so I only submitted cover letter & resume but wondering what others did. Thanks in advance! ?

I would only submit what they ask!

Anyone here apply for Peds unit or the nursery that got called for an interview? Mine has been under review since Jan 30.

@jqueen I've heard of people getting nursery interviews. I have not gotten a call for their nursery or any of their peds units /:

Oh okay thanks! Fingers crossed for us. Hoping that they’re just taking their time looking through everything.

@jqueen I hope so! I know some people got calls for interviews with the high acuity unit on Monday and others got a call yesterday. So fingers crossed they disperse the calls over a few days.

Hi everyone! So...all of my applications still just say "applied." None are under review so I'm thinking I will likely not get interviews. I am applying from out of state and just wondering...do any of you know if CA residents are given preference for interviews or if that plays into it at all?  Just curious...I lived in SF until last June but couldn't get a hospital job so moved out of state in order to get one.  So now I'm out of state.  Would love any insight if anyone knows!

I'm not sure but a few of my apps went under review on Feb 1st which was technically "late". When did you apply?

What units have you guys heard of people getting interviews for? I've only seen Med Surg High Acuity and ICN.

I applied for the Intensive Care Nursery on 1/11. My heart was just set on NICU but in hindsight, I should've applied to all units. (At the end of Jan, I went ahead and applied to the remaining adult units that still had apps open).

Is everyone here from California? Just wondering!

Hello all,

I submitted early, I'm under review, but no word back either.  I applied to the following:

Med Surg - ICU

Ped. Trans Care

Ped. Surgical

Med Surg, Adult Med.

Fingers crossed, good luck everyone!!
