I just wanted to make sure there was a place to talk about the New Grad Residency Program at UCSF that begins April 2021. Does anyone know how many applications they expect to receive for this cycle? Also, does anyone have insight to which units will open for the October 2021 New Grad cycle?

Im not sure, I am applying as well. I did not see any location to upload LORs, are we supposed to be providing that?
I didn't see a location for LORs either so I didn't include any.

Does anyone know when they start contacting/ when we’re supposed to hear by?
I think they will interview during the first 3 weeks of Feb

Hello, thanks for starting the thread! I applied for the Neuro ICU, and I uploaded my LOR's into the cover letter section since I only used one cover letter. What specialties are you guys going for? Best of luck!
Andrew
I applied to a few adult units but have a separate cover letter for the one I wanted the most - cardiothoracic vascular transplant unit. I am really hoping to get into any adult unit at UCSF, though.
Good luck to you, too!

Hi everyone! I'd love to keep up in this thread. I applied to every unit but I'm really hoping for their intensive care nursery, peds surgical ICU, peds ICU, or peds transitional care. My cover letters expressed my experience and love for pediatric care but I applied to the adult side as well, just in case.
Good luck! I hope they call this week!
Woah, your comment just put things in perspective for me aha. I wasn't expecting to hear back for a while but they did say the first three weeks of Feb they'd be conducting interviews. Only 4/12 of my apps are under review and I applied on 1/16.
Does anyone know if they manually read every cover letter and resume? I know some hospitals use a computerized system but some prefer to do it the traditional way. Last q (for now ahaha), do they conduct more than one round of interviews?
Oops, I meant 5/12 of my apps, not 4/12.
I wish I knew their process haha!

I also applied for all of their peds positions, since I precepted in that area. Their application seemed fairly basic and simple, and was also unsure about LORs, I hope we hear something soon. Good look to everyone who has applied ?
