I just wanted to make sure there was a place to talk about the New Grad Residency Program at UCSF that begins April 2021. Does anyone know how many applications they expect to receive for this cycle? Also, does anyone have insight to which units will open for the October 2021 New Grad cycle?

I got an offer in the med/surge ICU on Tuesday. Had to take a couple days to think it over since it's a huge move for me but accepted today.
Good luck to everyone else waiting.
Congratulations! That is awesome for you! do you have any tips you can share?

When did your references get finalized and around what time do you remember receiving the call? Did they give specifics on how whether the reference check means you got ICN? I’m sooo anxious waiting.

I mean... I don't really know? The one thing I can say is that I was myself during the interview. I tried my best to just answer the best I could. I didn't study or do anything prior to the interview. That approach doesn't work best for everyone but it worked for me based on what I was told.
I'm super excited and super nervous for this transition but I hope it's going to be worth it. Thanks for all the insight in the thread everyone.
I had my references in on Monday. I have no idea what the reference checks mean...sorry! I received the call yesterday around 3.

You got it! I know everyone says this but truly, be yourself and let your personality shine through. Make it more like a friendly conversation than a scary interview. Also, think of a bunch of genuine questions you'd like to know about the unit, culture, program. Think about what they want in a coworker/ new grad on their unit and share how you might fit some of those attributes ?
