UCSF New Grad Residency Program April 2021

Published

I just wanted to make sure there was a place to talk about the New Grad Residency Program at UCSF that begins April 2021. Does anyone know how many applications they expect to receive for this cycle? Also, does anyone have insight to which units will open for the October 2021 New Grad cycle?

Did you interview with them? I haven't heard at all. My status for all of the pediatric units are under review, except for peds transitional which hasn't been looked at.

I have a good friend patiently waiting who is not on here. I'll let you know if I hear anything!

Same, those I've applied are under review. I haven't heard any one being contacted for peds. transitional, or surgical. It feels like this wait is forever, LOL

Has anyone heard anything from the PICU? I received an email asking for references and I have no clue what unit it’s for haha

I interviewed for the PICU this morning. Based on availability when they scheduled my interview, it sounded like this afternoon might be the last day of interviews. Did they tell you what the next steps would be? I didn't have time to ask in the interview. I'll let you know if I end up hearing about references!

They told me that they would get back to those who are chosen for the second step either at the end of this week or next week! The second interview would be in person. They didn’t mention anything about the references though so the email was a surprise.

Sounds like all pediatric units interviewed this week (?), Med-Surge and Transitional Neuro reference checks were last week (?), and other ICU, General Medicine, Acute Care, Oto, and ED still have not interviewed, as well as Neuro Acute Care or just Neuro have not asked for references yet? If anyone has different information, will you please share, as this is what is on  these pages condensed. Please correct if I misidentified. Trying to keep it all straight. TY!

Has anyone who made it to the second interview for ICN heard back/got any reference check emails? I am anxiously waiting to hear any kind of news back.

Thanks for sharing! Did you interview for any other units that might have sent the reference check, or you're pretty sure it's PICU?

I also interviewed for the ICN but didn’t make it to the second round!

Interviewed with PICU today, they said they should have their decisions tomorrow and will contact later in the day for second round "bedside" interviews. Good luck to all! Anyone know how many they interviewed any how many spots there are?

All I know for sure is that neuro ICU, ICN, neruro transitional care, acute care and med surg high acuity has interviewed. Hope that helps a bit!

I didn't make it for the second interview from ICN! I received an email by them last week!

I also know that Med Surg High Acuity, Neuro ICU and Acute Care units are all still waiting to hear back but have already interviewed and had reference checks
