UCSF New Grad Program 2023 Questions

Updated:   Published

Hello all,

I am at the last semester of the ABSN program at Samuel Merritt. I'm expecting to graduate in early Jan and plan to take the NCLEX early Feb and no later than late Feb. I would like to know the timeline for applying to UCSF's nursing new grad Spring program 2023. Any past experiences with UCSF to share will be greatly appreciated.

Has anyone heard from adult ED?

my friend heard back and has an interview. they've already reached out.

I wish they would send out rejection letters if we're not being considered!

I feel like the PICU sent out their invites already

Do you know anyone who had an interview with PICU?

I'm kinda surprised no one here on this thread got an invite from them.

I don't know anyone but don't be afraid to reach out and just express your interest and how you want to be considered for PICU. It can't hurt to ask. worst thing that happens is they reject you and say sorry we already have the candidates picked out. go for what you want!

but reach out to who?

All I got was an email from the talent recruiter a week ago that my application has been forwarded to the managers

you could reach back out to the talent acquisition partner who sent that email! she's super nice. you could just say something like hey I haven't heard back from PICU and I am definitely interested in working on that unit. let me know if I could be considered.

it really can't hurt to try. all she can do is just forward your application to the manager. if she already did then she would just let you know that it's out of her hands. she's really chill so I say go for it.

Great thanks! I think the application has been forwarded there already based on my top 3 preferences though

oh okay! I didn't know if PICU was one of the preferences. what I meant was like if you didn't apply to one track or something you could always send an email saying you wanna be considered and worst case scenario, they say no! But good luck to you! I wish you the best ?

@nursingtwenty23 - I haven't heard back since this email either. Sucks big time.

Same here ? I wish they wouldn't give us hope and just decide who would get a second interview from the beginning
