UCSF New Grad Program 2023 Questions

Hello all, 

I am at the last semester of the ABSN program at Samuel Merritt. I'm expecting to graduate in early Jan and plan to take the NCLEX early Feb and no later than late Feb. I would like to know the timeline for applying to UCSF's nursing new grad Spring program 2023. Any past experiences with UCSF to share will be greatly appreciated.

Hi ZeeZee! Maybe it depends on the unit? At least that's what I'm telling myself. After my interview Tuesday, the unit manager said they would be debriefing Friday and have to make offers by the 24th.

has anyone heard back from the NICU or PICU? 

also I'm assuming if we didn't hear back for an interview already we won't be called?

The invites for nicu were sent out earlier this week. Nothing from the PICU yet ...

Exactly. I felt it is unfair for someone who made to that stage especially after completing so many interviews against highly competitive candidates. It is what it is I guess...

It has been only a few days since I had my interview but I am starting to feel this waiting game anxiety already LOL anyone else feeling this way? ? I hope they respond asap to let us know what to expect next... although the panels told me during the interview that they will get back to us coming week.

hey you never know! Just because I got the skill survey soon after an interview doesn't mean other people won't get a skill survey. they are still doing interviews. Don't be afraid to send an email if a lot of time has passed and you're wondering where you stand. You got this and I wish you the best as well!!

Do you mind me asking which unit you interviewed with? ?

it was an adult med surg unit at parnassus! I don't wanna get into which specific unit in case someone else interviewed and is still waiting. but all I will say is I honestly cried after getting the skill survey sent after the interview because the team was so amazing and I would definitely work on that unit because of my interests in it. 

I still have two other interviews next week and have no idea if other units will reach out (because I know units could still be reaching out to people based on your interests). The other units are also interesting and it'll be cool to meet the team, hear about the patients, and see if I fit in with them!

I believe I interviewed with the same unit! They have not reached out to me just yet and I am aware that a few more people from this forum also have interviewed with the unit as well not sure if they heard back tho.

For me it was 3 units all together including the adult med surg unit so I felt a bit overwhelming LOL but I hope they select multiple individuals! I will keep it posted here and hope we all get jobs we wanted ?

question to people who have had their unit interview already. did the managers say how many people they were hiring?

I know that ICN is hiring 6
