Hello all,
I am at the last semester of the ABSN program at Samuel Merritt. I'm expecting to graduate in early Jan and plan to take the NCLEX early Feb and no later than late Feb. I would like to know the timeline for applying to UCSF's nursing new grad Spring program 2023. Any past experiences with UCSF to share will be greatly appreciated.

So mine will be in person for an HOUR next Friday with no other candidates. Has anyone else had this experience? That seems like a very long time.. also anyone have advice on what questions to ask UCSF?
I'm assuming it's normal.. mine is also scheduled for an hour and I don't see any other candidates in the email. I believe I have 5 interviewers but they are all from the same unit, so an hour seems like a long time.
Just out of curiosity, did people receive invites for Adult ICU or hear back from ED?

How did it go?! If you don't mind me asking, was it also a panel and for how long?
I was hovering around previous allnurses forums for UCSF... the numbers of hiring candidates they take per unit seem extremely low. I am seeing 2 per units, hardly greater than 4. ?
Apparently there were so many people declining offers at last minute too! I was surprised by how many people declined. I saw at least 3-5 people said they declined.
I remember last time when I spoke to the nurse from ICU during the infosession that they were thinking about hiring 4 candidates so it sounds about right.

It was mostly people who accepted offers from other hospitals or wanted to practice in desired specialty. A few mentioned that they received a call but failed to pick up then that was the end of communication which sounded like very poor and unprofessional action from the manager who made the call to the candidate. No voicemail left. Dropped just like that

That's kind of horrifying...imagine getting an offer for your possible dream job and just getting dropped because of that
