Gotcha, thank you, and good luck :)

This is exactly what I heard directly from one of the faculty. I know for the AGPCNP specialty, they are allowed about 8-10 spots and they invite double the amount of slots to interview. Mary Foley told us at the AM morning session on the 26th that "most of us will get in". I do hope she means that literally but not sure how that could be. Anyways, best of luck everyone!

thanks for all the useful inputs guys :) hopefully we can all get in!

That's right, she did say that! She also say we all have 4.0s which I don't have :D - but I think she meant we are all high achievers with impressive stats and experiences ;)

Yes, HORRENDOUSLY! I go back and forth between thinking I did great, we had a great connection, my interviewers seemed to like me, aaaaaaand thinking about how I failed to say basically anything I meant to say, did not answer questions completely, and worded some things very poorly :( I realize that for a number of questions, I was probably supposed to list multiple things (how will you deal with the stress, what are your strengths), and I just picked one thing and monologued on it. I literally only gave them one strength! Hopefully though they have been doing this a long time and know how to tell more from an interview than just how "well" someone performed.

I am surprised to hear you guys were told 100 interviewees, I could have sworn on the 19th SJ said 115-120. I hope your numbers are right :) If anyone has any more deets on the number of PNP interviewees and spots I would love to obsess over them :)

Good luck to everyone, and I hope you all have really good distractions for the next couple weeks!

My biggest distractions are worrying about my other applications :barefoot:

Anyone learn anything really interesting at the meet and greet they would like to share? We had a few people ask, in different ways, about working through MEPN year. Each time they answer was, no. Our group discussed what clinicals are like and what finding work is like in the 3rd year. One suggestion was to scope employment opportunities at clinicals, if possible.

Fingers crossed from all here! I was nice to meet some of you in person.

There have been some MEPNs who have worked in their first year but it wasn't a lot of them and at most it was maybe 2 shifts a week. It took a big toll on them though in terms of time and energy. It isn't advisable. Additionally, you will be so tired and out of it, you won't really get much out of the experience either at your job or from the MEPN program.

The interview and the Meet and Greet helped me to understand the program better in a more profound way and it helped reinforce why the program is a good fit for me as a future nurse and provider and why I applied to the program in the first place.

I noticed that more people have taken the survey on the first page. That is great! If you haven't done so already and have 15 posts under your belt, please do so so we can help future applicants looking into the program.

The MEPN who chatted with us the longest (whose name I forgot but who was really nice, hi if you're on here!) really detailed the life of a MEPN. It sounds intense--2 years worth of education in 11 months. From what I remember, most people have classes Monday-Wed and then clinical on Thursday and Friday, or some mix of those. Tests are on Sundays. The first quarter sounds a little brutal, but it was good to get that honesty. There are also electives during the lunch hour, which are pass/no pass and sound pretty interesting. Oh, and always be on the lookout for free lunch!

It was nice meeting everyone!

Lunch hour electives sound pretty neat! thanks for sharing @pinks84.

The first year does sound brutal. I think the spirit of getting through it as a cohort helps.

kinda echoing what everyone else had mentioned before, but some of the MEPNs I have spoken with did not recommend working during first year of the program. Judging from their classroom works & clinical I would suggest perhaps holding out until your 2nd & 3rd year if you could.

slowly chipping away at that 15 posts limit .... xP

Hey Ya'll, current MEPN here. I want to take a moment and send some love out to all of you. I remember this time last year, it felt like all of my hopes and dreams were resting on that interview. I actually didn't even sleep the night before because I was so anxious! But the interview itself was easy breezy. I spoke straight from the heart with the questions they asked and it was the most comfortable part of the whole process.

The way they scheduled the MEPN meet and greet is unfortunate because most of us have clinical hours during that time, so there may not be many of us there, but trust me, we wish we could be there.

Thank you for your encouragement!
