UCSD 2014 Summer New Grad Applicants

Hi all!!

I wanted to start a thread for those who applied to the UCSD 2014 summer new grad RN program. I applied to 2 Med/Surg departments and according to HR, by the end of this week they will forward the lucky applicants to the appropriate departments for interviews. Yicks!!!

Has anyone on here also applied and has your application status changed from "open"?

I'm thinking it's just for Perinatal. I'm sure the different units are conducting their recruiting process independently, but I'm not sure! My status for CCU has not changed since I applied; it still says "application received."

You are correct. Each unit hires independent after hr filters applications. New hires are then bundled for orientation whenever the next pres scheduled dates are. For example BICU and CCU could vary greatly, and unlike UCLA hiring is based on need and open positions could pop up here and there sporadically.

Hi All,

I interviewed for the Perinatal FMCC/NICU new grad cohort on Monday. My interview was for the NICU loop of the program. Just wondering if anyone else who interviewed had been offered a position or received a rejection? I understand they conducted interviews on June 2nd, June 9th, and few sprinkled throughout the week of the 9th as well. The wait is soooo difficult!!

Have you heard anything back? I interviewed for BMT today and was told they were making a decision Friday. Wondering if any of the other units have made hires yet!
