Applications open October 18 for March 2024 cohort.
I just got an email that there were too many competitive applicants for NICU so I won't be moving forward in the next phase. They are only hiring 4 candidates. For reference, I had a NICU preceptorship, 2 competitive externships, and acute care NICU/peds-related job experience. I am not local to San Diego, so maybe they prefer locals? Not sure, but I wish those who got an interview good luck!!

I got the same email! Goodluck to those who got an interview invite
Got the same email about the NICU. The nurse manager followed up in the email chain saying it was very competitive and even though I am a peds nurse now in another new grad program, they wanted someone with relevant experiences. Had a preceptorship and did an externship on the NICU.
I know they take a lot of non-local people, it just comes down to the timing and this being the one of the only NICU new grad program in months here in SD. Fingers crossed for anyone who gets an interview.

Yes I do! I'm in the Graduate Nurse program at CHOC. It's more LVN level work and it's task based nursing care so I don't take on my own patients but it's great experience and helps set you up for their residency program. I currently live in SD so it's a bit of a drive for me but great for the experience.
