UCSD New Grad Residency August 2023

Hello everyone! Just thought I would start this thread for those applying to UCSD's new grad residency program starting this August! I know the job listing should be posted within the next week or so (:

Hello! Did anyone else here apply for specialty, oncology, and general? Also how do I see where my application is my status isn't really displayed clearly on the website!

I applied to all 3, also. I am trying to also find out what my status is ?

Once you login in you should see a yellow button on the top right hand corner that says check status.

Thank you! Mine still just says the applications have been received - does anyone else still have this?

Most the people I know still have that as their status

Yes, my general application still just says "received," and I submitted my application on the 29th. I remember in the informational session they had, they said that it didn't matter when you applied during the time that the application was open, they would all be considered the same.

If our application still says received is that a bad sign? Since others were forwarded already at this point. Based on previous cohorts if anyone knows?

I'm not 100% sure but I'd say there's still a chance. One of mine did update to say I was not considered. Just keep checking! Best of luck!!

I would not take it as a bad sign. At the webinar that UCSD did in March, they stated that it does not matter if you submitted your application early or the last day, it will be considered. I checked my status this morning and applications all had "received" but then I checked this afternoon and one had been sent to the hiring department. Just keep checking daily because it will change.

Anyone that applied for Oncology, has your status changed?

I applied on 3/29 to the 3 openings (general, specialty, oncology).

yesterday, general changed to "referred to the hiring department".

the other 2 still have my status as "application received".
