Hi guys,
Looking for some information about the application requirements for UCONN's Spring 2022 CEIN/BS program. NursingCAS says you can have 3 outstanding pre-reqs at the time you submit your application. Their website says two. Anyone gotten in touch with admissions to clear this up?
Also, they ask for proof of enrollment for any outstanding pre-reqs. This is particularly confusing if you plan to take pre-reqs in Fall 2021. How can you provide proof of enrollment before a June 15 application deadline, if enrollment periods haven't even started for fall 2021?
Hi everyone! I found this old thread as I am working on my application for the January 2023 start date. I am applying to the Stamford campus. I was hoping some of you might be able to give me some insight on my likelihood of being accepted. I have a strong work resume of healthcare work and volunteering, but my undergrad GPA is definitely lacking. I have re-taken all of the courses that were below the required grade but even so--does anyone know how much emphasis they place on your overall undergrad GPA from the school where you received your diploma when reviewing applications? Thanks in advance!
@catherine48 hi! I’m in the upcoming cohort and can tell you that my undergrad GPA was not great. I also retook two prereq’s. they don’t break down your application after acceptance and tell you what weighed more (although that would be nice), however it does seem like uconn has a very holistic approach and considers all aspects of an application. if you had poor grades on your transcript, but came back and got A’s/B’s the next semester, I think that shows determination. I really really really prioritized my essay for this application knowing my GPA was not strong… and I talked about that in my essay! also make sure you have strong and honest references (one MUST be academic, they will not process your application without it) good luck! and if you have any other questions feel free to reach out :)
I think your science GPA carries more weight than your overall GPA. I would focus on writing a good personal essay though, while avoiding the generic stuff that everyone writes. I think that will set you apart from other applicants.
Good luck on your application.
P.s my overall GPA wasn't good at all.

Think mid 2s for my overall(Rough undergrad, then 10 year break before finishing LOL). but my science GPA was a 3.8.

my overall undergrad GPA was a 3.2, and my science and prereq GPA was a 4.0 (also, what @Army-vet-Malcolm said! make your essay unique, you want it to stand out!)

There are two approved ways of creating a special area for your cohort on this site.
One: create a facebook page. This link may be posted.
Two: create a "club" for your cohort by clicking on the Breakroom link in the yellow bar to the left of this page. Then click on “Create A New Club” in the green bar at the top of the page, and follow instructions.
References to other than these two avenues will be moved from view, to comply with the Terms of Service.
Thank you.
