UCLA Summer 2017 RN New Grad Residency

U.S.A. California

Published

UCLAs application for their Summer 2017 New Graduate Residency program opened this weekend so figured I'd start the forum where we could all converse, update and support each other through the LONG and stressful process.

STAFF UPDATE

Tell us about UCLA by visiting University of California (UCLA) School of Nursing | Peer Reviews.

I submitted my application on the 8th. I'm wondering if they are looking at them in order of receiving them. I'm trying to stay positive. I was so confident at first haha. Maybe this is the universe's way of keeping me grounded. I talked to HR yesterday and they said we will be notified either way. And as someone else said, they'll be sorting through applications up until the end of next week.

Hey SlimSaydee, I submitted my application on the 5th. Another applicant I know submitted on the 10th. We still haven't had a change. So who can really say for sure what their method of sorting is haha ;). It is nice to hear that we have until end of next week to be hopeful!

I'm wondering if anyone else following this forum has had a status change since 4/4?

Hello,

I have a question is there anyone who's applied that's live out of state, now. Looking to relocate to LA? I been been trying to find past post about the interview. Do anyone knows if it's face to face or skype?

I applied for the Peds and PICU and my status recently changed to routed to interviewing supervisor. I just checked it yesterday.

Hi Michele,

Can I ask what day you submitted your application? I'm trying to figure out if they're processing them in the order they were received.

Thanks!

Hi guys! I applied to perinatal and med/surg and my status changed yesterday.

Hey bnavarro, I applied to those units on the last day the application was open (the 12th, I think?). What day did you apply? Also, if you don't mind my asking, what background/certifications do you have? Just trying to guage where I am in the mix!

Hi Katiekat RN,BSN,

I began the application right when it opened but I did not submit until the last day as well. I did an accelerated nursing program at University of Rochester in New York and graduated Dec 2016 and prior to that I got a BS in kinesiology. I already have my license but I am licensed in NY and currently waiting to get it endorsed. I did my capstone in a high risk antepartum/postpartum unit and I did mention it in my cover letter and added it to my resume. As for work, I worked at an early education center for a few years and have no experience working in health care besides clinicals.

I'm sure they are still reviewing applications! Hang on tight! Good luck :)

Hello,

Just a FYI, CHLA is opening up there application for transition nurses on April 10th. If anyone is a transition nurse and wants to work with children. They offered a new grad program as well, but I think the application process is closed. Just double check I don't want to give false information. :)

I applied the first day it opened. I spoke with a recruiter at the NSNA convention yesterday and she said that after the status change its usually a week or so to get interview information.

Has anyone had their status change if they applied to the ED? I'm getting about nervous!!
