UCLA Summer 2017 RN New Grad Residency
Congratulations, Bowser! If you don't mind me asking, when did your status change for transplant ICU? I haven't seen much activity from individuals who applied to MICU or SICU on this board so I'm curious. I applied for 8ICU as an external candidate but my status hasn't changed. Hope you hear back soon!

UCLA Summer 2017 RN New Grad Residency
Hey SlimSaydee, I submitted my application on the 5th. Another applicant I know submitted on the 10th. We still haven't had a change. So who can really say for sure what their method of sorting is haha . It is nice to hear that we have until end of next week to be hopeful! I'm wondering if anyone else following this forum has had a status change since 4/4?

Hmm I can't recall actually electronically signing it. I guess I assumed that if this was unacceptable then the application would not have been submitted or would have at least been marked incomplete.

Thanks the information herna372! Do you by chance remember how long it took for your status to change? Edit: I'm wondering how long we should still be hopeful that our status could change!

CSULA 2015 ABSN Program
@whimsicality and @hklee Going off of ShirleyRex's format: BS in Biological Sciences - 3.45 Nursing Pre-Req GPA (Sciences) - All A's except two B+'s (Physiology and Part A of OChem w/ Lab, it was a 3 part series at my school) TEAS - 99% (National) and 99% (Program) (I highly recommend the ATI study package) Volunteered with various programs during college and after. Most notably the Clinical Care Extender Program 1 year/300+ hours. Also held leadership positions within the program. I currently work as a Medical Scribe. I talked about my experiences helping nurses/CNAs during my time as an intern and more specifically what I learned about nursing through it all. I did mention my desire to become an NP. I had two strong letters of recommendation, one from an ER nurse I met while volunteering and one from my CCE program manager. I was debating between USD and CSULA. I chose CSULA because of the NP aspect and the cost! I concur with ShirleyRex about programs looking at a candidate holistically instead of solely focusing on his/her stats! Hope this helps and good luck!

CSULA 2015 ABSN Program
Thanks for setting up the FB page @pistachio0_! Has anyone heard yet from you know who about applying to the school? Last time I spoke to her she said they were waiting on campus admissions to figure out the process. That was five days ago. Also for financial aid, do we have to wait until we are officially enrolled at CSULA as students to know if we received any type of aid? Thank you in advance!

Congrats to everyone admitted so far! I received my official letter in the mail today (I live in LA) and my portal has been updated since last week. Hang in there if you haven't heard back yet!
