Hi everyone! I wanted to make a forum to connect anyone that is applying for UCLA's new grad program starting this summer! Post below if you're interested in applying and which units you're interested in. I'm thinking about SICU, oncology, and the OR.
Are you interviewing for CTICU? That's when I have mine. I leave on the same day as the interview since I have to be back for school the next day. I hope they don't make me stay for the second interview since they didn't really say anything about it in the email. I mean I would have prepared for it if they told me about it.
I called in particular to my unit that I was interviewing for, just in case they are considering a second possible interview.HR told me to be prepared to stay later in the day due in case I was going to fly home afterwards. I could be heading to the unit in Santa Monica to go tour, interview with staff there, etc.
Good luck folks and if you there on May 9, come say hi or meet up :)! Anyone start a Facebook group yet?

Did you call the unit or HR? I want to do the same for my unit but I don't know who to contact?
Krondike: Hey there sorry, didn't see your message, but i'm interviewing for 5MN Step Down.
I have work the next day but I just put my flight towards 9PM since I told them I need to go work the next day.
You can probably call HR and ask to find out about your unit, I heard some of the units from other threads actually had to go a second time the week after for an interview with the unit.
Never hurts to ask right? And save you money at the same time, I live in nor cal so yeah...!
I just called HR and got directed to recruitment. I asked them if oncology does second interviews and the lady didn't really know. She went to ask someone and said that each unit manager does it differently so she doesn't really have an answer for me. I guess if worse comes to worse, I can pick another flight later that evening.
For those of you that are out of town, I contacted HR through email and this is what they said:
"We have many out of town candidates, so to be considerate of everyone's time if a manager would like to conduct a second interview or a unit tour they will only do so on the same day as the interview."

It would have been nice if they mentioned that before since I already booked a return flight on the same day. How would they expect us to know that lol
